This literally happened to us every year Dan Mullen was our coach except for maybe 2016 and 2009.

It got the point for me where I didn't believe the Florida and Tennessee rumors for awhile because rumors like that popped up every year and never ended up being true.

That's a thing of the past. These players are out for themselves. Not a criticism- just reality and I don't blame them. There is potentially millions on the line for these guys. If anything I think it could be the opposite because with the portal which didn't exist when Knute Rockne was around these players follow coaches to an extent. Remember- a lot of Ole Miss's players aren't from Mississippi or Memphis.



I agree on all points. However, if I'm Auburn it's good to make sure that everyone knows who the coach is just in case Cadillac pulls the upset of the century. I don't expect that to happen or anything like that. But Cohen did get into a bit of a hairy deal a little but with Gary Henderson when he took us to Omaha. Weird things can happen in sports.

So you're saying the AD at (insert school here) trying to hire Mullen away, leaked to the media that he/she was hiring Mullen?

I always assumed it was Mullen's agent leaking Mullen here and there to drive up negotiations.
