NIL Numbers and Strategy
Clearly things are changing....
And all this with an interim AD, lol. Was Cohen literally not trying at all? Unless I'm misremembering, I don't recall seeing this blitz of advertisement across the board for the Bulldog Initiative just a few days ago. Quite the indictment on our previous AD...

I'm still hoping someone will come up with an app we can download to our iPhone, ipad, or whatever. I believe this would really help simplify investing towards NIL.

An app would be awesome and I'm sure they must have someone working on it. Charlie Winfield is doing such a great job, his efforts need to be highlighted more by our PR folks at State. And to Ol' Bracky's credit he's stepped up too.

Cohen sucked at his job, it wouldn’t surprise me if he was about to be canned for not doing his job.
We have been recruiting pretty well considering such garbage nil efforts from the AD. It’s like going into a casino without chips.
Crack reporting from the coverup artists over at rosebuds place.

Bracky, the most maligned member of the AD Staff over the past decade, steps up. Who'd a thunk it?
It says to me that everyone around Cohen knew that he was missing the boat.
"After dealing with Ole Miss for over a year," he said, "I've learned to expect their leadership to do and say things that the leadership at other Division I schools would never consider doing and to justify their actions by reminding themselves that "We're Ole Miss.""

I don't know if it was Cohen not trying. Or Cohen leaving lit a fire under our tails. Or the fans weren't trying. I tend to think it was all three combined.
Obviously Cohen leaving and Ross whatshisface comments motivated people to give.
However I listen to every MSU sports related podcast I can find. I heard two host on two different shows say they just joined. I assume they are young and money is tight. But come on, if two guys that follow msu sports that closely aren't giving. And you know they knew of BIL.... then that's an indication the fans by and large aren't trying either.

An app that did live stats on all games and let you dontate/invest at the same time would be phenomenal.

This is the first time I've seen the athletic dept. across the board on all their social media platforms promote the NIL program, which is why I think this is the answer.

Yea it should be kind of obvious. Magically recruiting will pick up, and it’s not because the coach’s became better recruiters overnight.

Definitely something has been missing wth the athletic depts lack of promoting of the nil until now. Been very strange week.

Past few years there has been a lack of promotion in the football department period in a variety of areas.
"We will have no problem in handling Kentucky."-Turfdawg67. MSU suffered a 27-17 defeat in 2022 with 225 yards in total offense.

I am not sure how you can come to the conclusion that Cohen was anything other than awful at his job. I used to think people were being too harsh on him, but sheesh. It's like he was just collecting a paycheck.

Not just NIL, also "game day experience". So, you've stood in the metal detector line in the hot sun a long time to watch too many 11:00 AM games waiting to buy that Sprite in a stinky cup, to look at poorly painted end zones, as you walked back to your seat from an understaffed concession stand out of many items over the last few years?**

Hopefully these issues will get fixed, when a new sherriff comes to town.

That's Auburn's problem now.***

Gotta believe the app is coming.

Cohen was in over his head as AD. The only thing he knows is baseball.
MSU's athletic department probably took it as a slap in the face when he (anonymously right) said we couldn't raise the money.

I would think so too. Would make it so easy

We were supposed to have a NIL meeting at the Scoreboard Club a few weeks ago with Charlie, Cohen and the rest of the athletic administrators. It was canceled because that was the same day of the tragic death of Sam Westmoreland.
The Legacy group or whatever it was called led by Lee van Horn really soured the grapes of NIL for our fanbase. It literally set us 8-9 months behind until Charlie decided to make a difference. Now there hasn?t been a viral marketing blitz via the MSU social media for the Bulldog Initiative but there has been advertising during every home game this year. I believe the goal of the canceled meeting was to roll out a plan for the university to fully back the BI and roll out an advertising campaign while showing those in attendance where we stood vs the competition.
