Bring me Currie or Benko, and bring me Mullen 2.0
Keenum has already reached out to Mullen. Mullen's recent trips to Old Waverly weren't just a coincidence. The new AD may have to just go along for the ride on this hire.

Haha, Bert, your sources have proven poor in the past, but I enjoy your posts and I wish you could end up right on this one.
Maybe Mullen is the new AD!

to recap: everything is changing.
To your credit, you get lots of reads for the biggest troll ever

FWIW ... my perception is any coach 2.0 never works out good.

This is 100% a lie. The part about waverly is. The rest I'm sure is too. But I'm speaking strictly on facts.

Mac brown doing alright at UNC. Who are examples that didn't work out? I really can't think of many examples

So, essentially what he's saying is that Cohen and Leach will be here next year. Whatever Bert predicts is the exact opposite. Bizzarro Bert.

There's only been a couple I know of in the past and I remember thinking they would be good but then they fizzled. I can't even remember who they were it was so long ago.
Having said that ... Mullen has been a fan of Leach's in the past or I saw some positive quote he made about Leach way before Leach came to Starkville. Since he was playing golf with Leach (if my memory of what was posted is correct), if they combined the best of both offenses somehow, that might be worth it. Both have developed good players from much lower ranked players coming out of HS .. so both are good development coaches IMO.
ETA: I'm not talking about a coach going to another school like UNC. I'm talking about going back to the same school.

Firing Leach to hire Dan Mullen would be one of the dumbest things I've ever seen MSU football do.
Let's fire a guy who almost has as many top 25 wins and replace him with a guy who barely had more in twice as much time.
Dan should really help with recruiting too.**
Not to mention another complete 180 in philosophy.

Mullen isn't coming back, so it really doesn't matter. I do like him though, and unless the hire is clawson, I'd welcome Dan back. A little humility could go a long way

If someone made me say right now who I think we could actually get and who I would be ok with as new AD and even a new football coach, I'd probably go....
Currie or Benko as AD
And a sneaky pick in Blake Anderson as HC

He said leach was gonna retire, not be fired. This is Bert, so it's really only worth discussing since it's a bye week

Yeah, I wouldn't be upset with Leach retiring, but I would be embarrassed at hiring Mullen again. I doubt the money folks would allow that anyway. Obvious troll job again.

You just sealed the deal Todd. This is probably exactly what will be done.

Transfer portal era Mullen could be better than "traditional" recruiting Mullen. No?
