I think a lot of the criticism he gets is very overboard, but in the same breath, no matter how poorly he plays some weeks you can't admit that either. He plays QB. All the genius offensive savants know what he should have done or checked to before he even does it. He is not perfect. But 10x better than what we have had for a lot of our history

Mobility is not just a requirement vs Bama....you see QB mobility as a feature of almost every offense at both the College and NFL level...

We need someone like a Mullen with a highly paid DC to have any success trotting 27-39th ranked recruiting classes out on the field in the SEC. And 2014 was a complete anomaly. No way a State like Mississippi can have consistently good D1 football programs at the same time. Over the past 40 plus years, when one is up, the other has to be down. State was bad under Shira and Templeton, both who were promoted from within. Cohen is a clone as he was also promoted from within. You can?t count Loafers. He was promoted from within but hit the road the first chance he got. And he is the damn son in law of our most famous basketball player, but still got the hell out. Yet successful ADs who aren?t favorite sons are swapping jobs all over the country and we can?t get a single one of them since Byrne to take our job and hire our coaches? Stupid!

I do not disagree with you at all. Sometimes every player is going to have a poor game. And some of the guys want to see him fail just to say I told you so. We have some very miserable, self loathing folks on this board. Some need to step away from the keyboard.

The kid has a ton of heart and plays well most of the time. When we have bad games, it's painful to watch. We either look like we can play with anyone or Vandy. We have no middle ground.
