In another thread it was said despite paying a ton to fired coaches, they will not let money be a problem to get the right guy.
Plus Auburn is closer to Key West...oh wait, that's our coach.

They're just raisin' the money.
That being said, he's 4-1 with a future win over WKU... he needs 8-4 with an Iron bowl win or 9-3...
In short, he's toast.
They're not not winning another game even including WKU.
WKU just beat FIU 73-0. Granted playing FIU is like playing against air, but Auburn's OL can't block air. Harsin wont be the coach by the time they play them.

Has Chris Peterson retired from coaching? If I'm Auburn I would have to at least make a phone call to see if I could get him.

Kiffin would be more of a splash hire and proven to win at a lesser program in the SEC. Auburn is going to want that kind of hire. Don't see Freeze or Mullen or another up and coming G5 type guy.

Sankey wouldnt even let Bama hire him an an analyst and Auburn supposedly kicked the tires on Freeze before hiring Harsin. So not sure Sankey has given the green light yet.

He's not shocked. His statement is just part of the game. The game that coaches play when they are going to leave soon.

If AU has Kiffin on the hook they aren't going to fight to hire Freeze. Better hire all the way round. I wonder if Kiffin's agent reached out to them first.

I have no idea if AU would be interested in Kiffiin, but I have no doubt they would pursue Freeze first and do whatever they can to try and get him. If Freeze doesn’t work, I’m not sure where they turn. I just know it would have to be a more splash name and Kiffin would meet that criteria. I’m sure they will try with Meyer but if Texas couldn’t land Meyer I don’t see AU having any chance at getting him.

I dont think he is because I dont think any blue bloods are going to hire him anytime soon. However, Auburn is one that might. There is no telling what they might do.

Because cheating is legal now.

NIL deal with the Mustang Ranch?!****

If Hugh wasn’t so greedy and Ole Miss fans weren’t so desperate, he probably could’ve really built that program at a more steady rate and sprinkled in a few higher star players for the first 3-5 years. If he was getting recruiting classes around 20 or so and winning 8 or 9 games for awhile it wouldn’t have been so obvious. Once he got them at more a 9-3 or 10-2 level then he could’ve gone for the 5 stars and people wouldn’t have questioned his tactics as much. Going from 2-10 to having a top recruiting class is obviously going to cause big red flags.

Good one. However at Aubbie it would be road trips to Phoenix City or the Aztec on Victory Drive*. Anyone who served at Ft Benning will get that one.
