Ole Miss Baseball Elimination Watch
So OM baseball won 14 games, D1 says they are 3 seed.
But
Alabama (12-17) has won two SECT games and Kentucky (12-18) beat Auburn and plays Florida (15-15) for their season tonight.
Alabama is now 40 on RPI and OM is 39.
Kentucky is 52
-
They will get in? I doubt we would have got in if we had won 15 SEC games.
-
The biggest thing to watch will be if any teams that weren't expected to get in the tournament end up winning their conference tournament.
OM needs the chalk to hold.
-
A couple of upsets by teams not expected to get in could make it interesting- but I think they are in. 32-22 and 14 SEC wins is a Tourney team unless a Bama or somebody like that starts winning some conference tourneys
Walk like the King or walk like you don't care who the King is
-
Unfortunately om will get in, they won't last long but they'll get in. Probably in hburg regional.
-
Unlike us, they did what they needed to do to get in.
-
Ole Miss will get in as a 3 seed, but their success will be dependent upon the regional. SEC will get 9 in and possibly 10 if Bama keeps making a run

By RPI - the 8th to 11th best SEC teams
#25 Florida
#39 Ole Miss
#40 Alabama
#52 Kentucky
OM has 14 regular season wins, that has been enough in most seasons. Kentucky has 12 wins, I don't recall a 12 win regional participant

Seems like there was one a few years ago that was 12-17(got one rained out) that had a high RPI or whatever term they used back then. I think they also made a run in the Sec tourney though, so that probably gave em a boost in a down year for other leagues
-
I can't see a SEC team that won 14 games not getting in.

LOL. Our final four or five opponents had RPI's in the top 50. Our RPI would have been good enough with 15 wins.

Agreed. The last 4 years no sec team
with 14 wins has been left out and historically it's been almost a sure thing as well. Its the best conference in baseball and why 9-10 teams get in every year.

Bama got in last year with 12 wins.
-
Bama got in at 12-18 last year.
Prob will get in again this year. They were 12-17 and are now 14-17, same record as OM and they swept OM. Plus Bama Strength of schedule is top 5, much higher than OM.
-
Let them in... they don't get in that might be enough to finally kick Bianco to the curb.
-
Rumor is that he himself looking for a landing spot.

What is the landing spot? LSU is taken. Would Strickland go off script and take him to Florida?

USCe or Kentucky if they fail to make it again. Either would be prime landing spots for Bianco.
We need to hope they keep him though. They might luck into a good coach like Link Jarrett. McDonald is not taking that job and Godwin does not scare me AT ALL. Jarrett scares me A LOT. In fact him and Cann would be the only two coaches that would scare me there.
-
If he leaves and steps down on his own, McDonnell is the guy. Dan won't come if Mike is fired. Usc is where I think Mike will possibly land. Also hearing Lafferty is high on the Memphis job.
-
McDonnell will probably go to Ole Miss if Bianco is let go. I am more confident he will be their coach though than his ability to do much better than Bianco. I think the results will be fairly similar but maybe a trip to Omaha once in awhile but I don?t think anything fantastic.
