Travis Jewett Out at Tulane
I think you can probably go ahead and fire up the Hitting Coach hot board. Would be shocked if Gautreau is not the hire.
-
Yep. I would think he would be a good candidate to go there. Memphis is also potentially interested as well.

I think being an alum gives Tulane an advantage. Also he can be aggressive in the portal with LSU transfers. However I will say this and it will sound insane, do not count out Cannizzaro for this job. He is not as nuclear as some think.

I could easily see Cann getting a call from Geaut if he leaves for Tulane.
-
Gotro is gonna have options and if I’m Lemonis, I push him towards one or the other. I am still hearing Memphis and now Tulane are both interested.

I had been hearing some Tulane chatter for the last few weeks but I thought it might be some in Gautreau?s camp trying to pressure Memphis a bit. Seems that was not the case. Gautreau is a top candidate for them. I know Matt Riser at SELA is also in that top grouping as well.

While riser would be a solid choice - him having an off year this year probably keeps him from it

If one coach were to leave, I would prefer Foxhall. While we have "struggled" in clutch hitting, pitching has been atrocious. Matt Wyatt had a stat today that said we have given up over 300 runs this year. Tennessee for comparison has given up just over 100. I would hate to lose Gotro.

GoTro is likely the new coach at Mempho or Toolame. Good for him. Now lets get a new guy.
Wonder if Cheese would get a promotion or we would look to get someone else?

A new philosophy and approach wouldn't be the worst thing.
I think Geaut is a good coach, and I don't blame him for this season, but sometimes change can be good

Obviously will have to get a new coach no matter what. But whoever that is needs to have some experience as a MLB scout.
That's how Cann was successful in evaluating players at LSU and MSU. And also how Florida and Vanderbilt built National Championship caliber teams.

The biggest thing may be a change in recruiting philosophy. Hopefully with more speed and OBP guys to go along with the power hitters.
That in and of itself would change our approach at the plate as well- at least over time.

Ethan Groff (400 hitter) and Grant Seigel (RH Weekend Starter)
Groff was a 500 hitter versus MSU. Seigel relieved Caramouche and shut down MSU for 5 innings
Come on up!

Pretty sure Groff is a senior.

Foxhall and Thackery are the two that need to go. I'd be fine if we reassign Thackery. I'm hoping that South Carolina fires Kingston and he gets the pithing coach job there. Or if Ole Miss hires Godwin that Foxhall becomes their head coach at East Carolina.
The good thing about Gautreau leaving in my mind is we could potentially go back to recruiting type players like Tanner Allen and Jake Mangum again and fewer Von Seibert's.

Amen. Anybody thinking someone out of the LFL couldnt have led our pitching staff to a 6.00 ERA this season is out of their mind.
