ETA... just thought about this more... day 2 was 2nd and 3rd round. I have a hard time believing that. That would mean those teams passed on him in 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th while having a 3-4th round grade.
What was Polk's contract for? Big UDFA deals are ~200k

I'm just glad we won't be giving 105 touches this year to an undraftable player that can't break a tackle or run away from anyone.
Polk was a solid player, but I'm optimistic that those 105 touches can be spread around to more explosive players and that should help the offense overall.
Imagine if we gave an undraftable RB 20 carries a game?

Polk this year led the sec in receptions, but was 40th in yds/rec. He's just not a plus athlete
I'm with you 7. in fact I think I recall one of those "anonymous" NFL scouts commenting that his biggest concern was that Polk's gyrotational flexion lacks fluidity when in phase...

I would for sure take him back. Just saying that those 105 touches going to guys that have a little more burst & physicality to break tackles, could help the offense & help us produce more big plays

He was the best we had. If there were a better option, he'd have gotten more of those catches

The job of agents is to tell ALL of their clients they will be first rounders so the few who do get drafted will pay for the agent?s new Bugatti.

Don't think I'll lose sleep over wide receiver play in year 3 forward of Mike Leach teams. Much like quarterbacks in his system, someone will produce.

So are you implying we don't have the receiver talent necessary for a Leach offense? If so, that is very worrisome! Am I misunderstanding something here?

Dude- this is Year 3 of Leach. We gonna roll.

You also have to remember that Polk played in a short passing game O. We don't stretch the field. He is a great possession WR. There are valuable spots in the NFL for those kind of guys. Someone may get lucky with him.
MSU had a 3rd string WR make an NFL roster under Croom as a possession WR.
