That’s incorrect. They met the day after the NIT game. He was told he wouldn’t be returning.

I think / hope your friend is wrong. An AD going a month with no communication with HC?

Yea... That part of the interview seemed odd. Said Cohen hadn't talked to him since the game where the other team was late.
But yet he knew he wasn't returning and told his players such after the nit game.
Just doesn't add up.

I had many talks with Greg about this and it wasn't an easy decision... Look at how much more money those seats bring in VS students who are wishy washy on attending bring in.
The atmosphere is bad because we haven't had a consistent winner in 15 years.
We have to rebuild the environment with wins. Yes students help but wins in the end improves the environment.
That is an incorrect way to view it. Basketball is a students game and football is an alumni game. You do everything you can do to get the students to attend basketball games in droves. You sacrifice profits to make this happen.
You of course, also, hire good coaches and win

I don't hate Cohen but I do question some of the things going on.

It wasn't clear, but I believe he's saying he hadn't spoken with John about his job status for the month leading up until the meeting where John told him they were going in a different direction.

I would not count on Jans coming here until it?s officially done. After the Schloss and Napier stuff I heard the same thing about them on this message board. If we went by confirmed hirings on this message board we would have a different football and baseball coach

I hope you are right because I am in full support of hiring Jans. He seems to meet all the criteria on paper and check all boxes

IYOK, do you expect a mass turnover on the team? I really hope we can keep it somewhat intact

Even though some of the guys didn?t live up to the expectations, I hope the new coach can keep as many as possible. It?s important to keep a strong core nucleus in basketball for a new coach coming in

Not expecting it. We need some attrition but not expecting 9-10 guys leaving or anything.

Javion Davis is already gone, but I think his 3.2 ppg can easily be replaced.
