At Virginia 1st round NIT
If we win, we play winner of Texas st/north Texas

Ah yes. A 4 Seed in a 16 team tournament. I think I would have just passed it to a more deserving team.
Edited to say. Good to know we are one of the 4 worst basketball teams deserving of a bid.

It's a 32 team tourney
-
Really. There are 32 teams that are still good enough to play more? Not a consolation but thanks for the correction. Guess my level of care went up 1% since I now know they think there are at least 16 worse teams than us willing to toss it up center circle one more time.
At least our DC and Virginia area fans can maybe take in a game.
-
Awesome. Another chance to experience complete and utter frustration. ****

72 + 32 = 104 teams in ncaa/nit.
104/358 = 29.1% of Div 1
42 bowls = 84 teams
84/130 (Div 1/fbs teams) = 64.6% of Div 1/fbs
No one seems to mind crappy bowl games, but everyone seems to hate the NIT when it's harder to make.
For the record, I'm sick of the NIT, but I will watch just like I watch us play in memphis in football

Oh but it gets worse. There is another tournament called the CBI (College Basketball Invitational) that has 16 additional teams that play a meaningless tournament. I saw Troy and California Baptist had accepted invites so far.

Why does Virginia get the home game instead of us. It looks like we are a 3 seed and they are a 6? Or am I misreading something with that bracket

There's also another one below that that used to be called the CIT, and is now called The Basketball Classic.

Hump renovations is a very convenient talking point, but the REAL reason is because UVA will draw a half-way decent crowd; they have good fan support. It would really be embarrassing to be playing a post-season tournament game in an empty building.
I watch ACC basketball much more than I watch SEC basketball. This will be a low-scoring game. UVA plays very good defense and doesn't shoot the 3-ball very well. Beating them will be a tall task.

Fornicate Under the Consent of the King. 17 if you get it. Blue Balls we have.

I think you'd be wrong on the hump renovation part. Having to be complete before next season means you can't delay esp with the lead time on building supplies these days

I'm interested to see too. Ben on the way out, players leaving, not sure how much effort we'll see. Hope we win it all but I'm thinking this will be our last game.
