Is this weekend a must win series for our hosting chances?
Yes or no

Mathematically no.
Realistically no for a top 16, probably yes for a top 8

too early for hosting fortunately, but if we lose we should be unranked. That might be the wake up call that the team needs.

They may want to check to ensure their ringer is turned on because the calls have been coming in since the first series...

For hosting? Maybe. But I think our fans put too much stock into hosting. It?s fun to play at The Dude in the postseason but it?s not like we couldn?t win a road regional against an ACC or C-USA team. And then the Super Regional round and beyond is a total crap shoot.

Let's be honest- if we host we have an easier path to Omaha. When was the last time we lost a regional we hosted? Like 2003 when Polk threw Mahlom in game one against a four seed? And I think we have only lost one Super Regional we hosted.

We were 14-3 last year when we entered our first SEC series. We are currently 5-4.

No. Not a must win. But it dang sure is a you better SHOW US SOMETHING series.

Felt like a must win series to me. I don't see a path to host unless we win 20+ SEC games which is basically impossible without Sims and with our bullpen. Not to mention our midget bats.

We have a whole bunch of must win series coming up. The only single positive I can find right now, is that the SEC slate provides plenty of opportunities to flip a season around. But I'm having a tough time seeing it happen. That same slate can also beat you into submission, especially when we have that defending champs Target on our back. This thing could get real real bad. We will get No sympathy from anybody, nor should we want any

Yep. We won't sniff .500 in conference play and will be damn lucky to sniff it overall.

You may be getting slightly out of character, Personally I am afraid State may be lucky to even qualify for a regional.

The goal at this point is to try to make a regional.

I?ll go ahead and say this too I don?t have much confidence in the midweek cause the team is already in Biloxi staying at margaritaville hotel casino as of last night. Not a fan of this move at all.
