We need to see wholesale changes tomorrow. Bench Cumbest, Clark, Yeager, and maybe even Tanner. If you can?t hit you can?t play anymore. Time to try some new guys out. I guarantee there are some hungry freshman who would have loved to have a crack at a guy who had a 136 ERA coming in!!! Not a 1.36 or 13.6 a 136. Utterly embarrassing

We just got owned by a guy toting a 136 ERA coming into the game today. I think times are WAY past tough.

Need that Texas tech locker room speech about being too good to play somebody.

Funny part is .... Bart Gregory clowned on the pitchers era and Northern Kentucky today on his podcast. It was so sophomoric and Petty.... I quit listening half way through the podcast.
Well, I raise a glass to you, Norsemen.

Hell all year has been pathetic. Even against Arkansas Pine Bliff half the hits were infield singles, and 2 of those should have been errors they gave hits.
We are in trouble this year. Plain and simple. Any pitcher that can throw a change up, curveball, or hell even a fastball will give us trouble.

I think Northern Kentucky used to be D II with Delta State. So there is our 1984 Mississippi College loss.
But truthfully, 11.7 scholarships make a lot of Big schools vulnerable to the low end loss, especially if Dugout Leadership is missing.

Too much angst on here way too early in the season. Buck up folks; we?ll get it figured out.
We are the National Champion ALL SEASON. Time for us to act like it. We?re no longer the Mississippi State fans of yesterday yearning for that first crown. We OWN THE CROWN!

Past time for the team to realize that they are the National Champion as well and all year will be tough. If we don't wake up we are in real trouble, we have stunk it up this year and don't appear to be getting better or care.

I agree the hitting will come around. However this feels an awful lot like the 97 basketball season (fresh off a final 4).

OK I?ll play with IF THEN hypotheticals. IF we figure it out, and certainly there are plenty of games left to do so, THEN we will be right back in a super regional playing for Omaha. Projecting an entire season lost from a five game sample size is not worthy of our standing as National Champion.

I bet we didn't have Brantley (Friday night ace) pitching when we lost to MC in 1984 like we did with Sims going today and losing to N KY. I know its baseball where you can lose any game but this has to be one of our worst baseball losses ever.

My ASS Hurts. So does my Heart. I've always thought if STATE Players knew how much I wanted them to win they'd play a little harder. LOL.

Who I really feel sorry for*** is the Fair Weather fans that just started liking baseball last year. They bought the stock, top of the market. Sorry fellas.
For existing long term fans, you knew this years team was a wildcard. TA is a Greatest Of All Time in any sport for MSU. You don't replace that overnight or super easy. Losing to a DII team happens when you get a weak batch. The team will get better, but I don't think this team has bottomed. If Stinnett and Tullar really are the best relief we got on Friday, woof!
But it's not just the relief pitching. Polk says the NKU pitchers were lobbing low 80s MPH fastballs with curve ball with very little snap. The NKU pitchers did their best to give MSU two 10 run innings. It was the top of the order that went 0-11 tonight. It will get better.

Losing TA is a good excuse for losing sec games, but NKU? Come on. I'm not freaking out this early, but we need to pound this team Saturday and Sunday

Did we just get hot at the right time last year to win a natty? I just don?t feel like we are a top 5 program based on talent yet.

Well, we have 2 projected 1st round picks right now. It's early and it's been cold. No way to judge anything yet.

Not just losing to NKU, losing to NKU at home, a previously 0-3 team, with the Ace starting, and only getting 4 hits. It's going to be fun to watch this team grow, improve, develop, and see how far they go.
