Excuse me when has this country ever truly abided by that. We've slowly gotten better but we were never perfect. You must have missed the 80s crack epidemic that our president did nothing about. Let's Crack and AIDS run rampant because it was "killin blacks and gays". 90s were no better. 00s was rife with middle eastern distrust. Maybe it's just people are nostalgic for when Black wasn't the lowest on the totem pole in the wake of 9/11.
