CFP rankings Tuesday
So my thoughts are 1,2,3 will be Georgia, Michigan, Bama in that order.
Question now becomes what do 4-7 look like?
If Oklahoma State beats Oklahoma, you've got to consider them and really would have to look at a 1 loss Big 12 champion over Cincinnati when it comes to who wins their conference championship (if the winner is 1 loss).
Notre Dame can't pass Cincinnati with a direct head to head loss and no conference championship game can they?
Going to be very interesting how they sort this out. If Georgia remains undefeated I think this is the year a Cincinnati gets put in at the 4

And if Bama loses to Georgia that assures Bama to the sugar bowl and then the sharts to the peach or another NY6
-
Perhaps Georgia, Michigan, Cincinnati, Alabama. Bama essentially has 2 losses.
-
Cinn, OHST, OM, ND, OKIE/Baylor

ND should be ahead of OM. OKState could come through and kick Oklahoma down.

It will be something like:
UGA
Michigan
Bama
Cincy
OU/OSU winner
ND
Ohio St
Ole Miss
-
1. UGA 2. Michigan 3. Cincy 4. Alabama

Exactly how I see it too. Ohio State has basically eliminated themselves. Possible playoff teams are UGA, Michigan, Bama, Cincy, ND and Bedlam winner if that Oklahoma team also wins big 12 title. ND and Cincy need to hope Bama doesn?t beat UGA

I’m all for giving new teams a chance, but Cindy really hasn’t played anyone
They should just expand the playoff field
-
Bama may vault to #1 after beating AU. **** Wouldn't shock me. #2 most definitely. That's how objective the CFP committee is.
-
Well the only one that counts will be taken next week./
-
Bama might bump up to number 2, but could stay at 3 to be honest. Michigan cracks the top 4 no matter what. Ohio state drops down to 5

ND win is a pretty good win. They have another shot at a ranked team this week.

Mine:
GA
Mich
AL
OSU (if they win Cinci if they don't)
How it goes:
GA
Mich
AL
Cinci
But AL isn't going to make the playoffs IMO anyway.

Are we asking what the rankings, will be, or what they should be?
Because I see NOTHING from Bama that makes me think they're a top 4 team. Their loss isn't a good one, they struggled vs a bad UF, bad LSU, and mediocre Auburn on a backup QB. Best wins are OM and State, neither of which is as good as OU/OSU best win, or Cincinnatis best win.
Eye test, worst loss, best win... none of them = top 4. They will be ranked there though because the committee doesn't actually rank based on games, but reputation, and Bama has a that in spades
-
Why are y'all worried about it? Bama is in with a win, and they're out with a loss. And that's exactly how it should be

By what metric should Bama be #2 over Michigan? Michigan has better wins, a better loss, and vs mediocre teams has handled their business better (Bama struggled vs Florida, LSU, Arkansas, and Auburn)
-
Cincinnati has blazed the path for G5 teams to get it. It's not enough to have a P5 win or two, you have to go beat a team that was going to be in the playoffs otherwise, and force the selection committee to give you their spot.
Notre Dame would be a lock right now if Cincinnati hadn't had the balls to go play them and beat them, and Cincinnati wouldn't have much chance if they'd beaten a mid-tier Big 10 team or someone like that instead. Cincinnati forced the committee's hand on this one in a way that no G5 team ever has.

Ole Miss may end up being a little lower when it turns out that their best win is over a 4 loss A&M team.

I don?t believe they should be #2, but I also believe the committee would bump them up 1 just for the fact that OSU lost. However like 7 said, once they lose in the sec championship they won?t make the playoff. Michigan should be number 2 imo but we will see
