Agreed! It would just be nice to have a coach that wins games and owns the media at the same time.

It's funny that Pittman and leach have the same 7-10 record and are viewed completely different by their fan bases.

Pittman inherited a team that had won 1 SEC game the previous 3 years. Leach inherited a program who had been bowling for a decade straight. The expectations no doubt should've been different.

Very good point. No rants about 3 toed sloths or something crazy along those lines.

Not sure what he has 'earned', but I wish I had a job where I made 5 million per year no matter what kind of team I put on the field. I really wish the bulk of all coaches' contracts could be incentive based. Heck, I wouldn't have a problem paying a coach 7 or 8 million a year if they actually won something on the field (say 8 or 9 games). But heck, we have to pay Leach 5 million even if we have another losing season under him. What motivation is there in that for a guy on the back end of his career anyway? At least with Mullen he was motivated because he had ambition wanting to move up in the coaching ranks.

I am good with him getting pissed off, if he has that much pride. Go out there and prove that your system can work in the best conference against the best talent.

Who inherited more talent? Shouldn't expectations be based on the situation inherited instead of the history of the program?
ETA: the four year recruiting average when each began coaching games was 29 for Pittman, 26 for Leach, and 20 for Kiffin.

Come on man these are excuses. Arkansas was worse than Vandy. MSU was a middle of the pack SEC school. In 17 months we're now even. That's an indictment on Leach more than it's a good job by Pittman.

Takent level is an excuse? So you do not believe in recruiting rankings?
I think we are comparable to the 2019 team that leach inherited. Probably a little better. Let's see how the season plays out.
I do think ark is better than when Pittman took over. But that is more due to Chad Morris was a dumpster fire. Pittman has ark about where they historically have been.
The two teams have almost the same talent profile and are very comparable to each other, yet Pittman is praised and Leach sucks. It's weird.

That's b/c Pittman RTGDFB and that's like Viagra around here.

For Kiffin though OM was already built offensively to do what Kiffin wants to do. And I mean they still royally stink on defense. For us, what does it matter what your recruiting ranking has been if you have a bunch of road grader OL with WRs that block better than catch and guys in the backfield that aren't pass catchers if you are going to the Air Raid? Leach does what he does so obviously the transition from a traditional run first school to the Air Raid is much more difficult for us than OM bringing in Kiffin with a ready made roster for him and possibly the best QB in the country.

I actually agree with you. No doubt leach's transition was the most extreme. One could argue he could try to coach around that, but regardless he had the bigger overhaul scheme wise.
Pittman basically is being praised being decent and for not being Chad Morris.

There's also the fact that they have an AD in Yurachek who is out there plugging ALL his athletic programs and pushing the perception that they are growing and improving any chance he can get. We have Cohen who doesn't know that there's another season other than baseball season

Again Pittman inherited a team with 1 SEC win the previous 3 years. Leach inherited a team that went to 10 straight bowl games. 1 should be praised & 1 should be criticized.

Now the jury is still out on this season & he definitely has a chance to have a satisfactory season but through 17 games there's been plenty of concerns. The only thing that we've been is inconsistent. Through 17 games we've won back to back games once. Hard to build a lot of momentum & fan excitement when you can't consistently win & your offense have shown minimal improvement from season 1 to 2. Especially when that was the talking point coming into the season. Again he has half a season to change the narrative.

They inherited the same talent level. The reason ark sucked was Chad Morris (and youth), not their talent level. Pittman is being praised bc Morris sucked.

This I agree with. Except I will say that we are averaging a TD more this year than last. We will see where that number lands at seasons end.
And it's not just the offense. The defense has not improved at all. And prob has gotten worse honestly.
