Kind of what Heritage Academy in Columbus started doing a few years back. It?s my understanding they are giving scholarships to athletes now.

A "delta all star team" would still historically suck. You could never field the best players in the delta and beat the best 6A team in the state. This is a unique situation. I'm not sure why people are so upset about it either. Who cares?

This. Taking the best players off three delta teams would normally not beat the best 6A team in the state. In the case, the GSC coach made some bone head decisions and they still won.

You obviously never played with/against the better delta public schools. There are numerous D1 quality players there every year that can't make the grades or have the coaching to get them to college.

I am from the Delta my friend. There is no year where 19 kids from Greenwood, and one from Yazoo and a couple other places would beat the top team in the state. It's just not happening. Of course there's more talent in the delta that doesn't get a chance to shine, but this is an obviously unique set of talented kids. GCS and the two young brothers that are coaching that team didn't just unlock some secret formula, although I'm sure they are providing a better coaching and academic environment then where these kids came from. They can recruit the Delta all they want but id be shocked if they ever have a team better than this.
