A lot of it may come down to how much a person would want to live in LA vs L.A.

I feel like USC will go after Fickell, but I think that's a big mistake. Fickell may be awesome, but they can't afford another miss by hiring a non P5 head coach. They need to go after someone that has won in the Big conference

USC is just as likely to go after an NFL guy

Leach to USC. Joe Judge to MSU.

The starting quarterbacks for Alabama, Georgia, Clemson, Ole Miss, and Ohio State are from Los Angeles area. No one has more access to talent than USC, second is not even close. There are even more Los Angeles quarterbacks spread out in America. The two top high school football programs, in America, are in the Trinity League in Los Angeles. LSU does not have better access to talent, not close. The problem with USC is it is the University of Spoiled Children and it does not have to work for anything. Pete Carroll evolved the USC Football we now know. The university really does not care about football that much?

Pete Carroll was always an NFL guy. Also, Pete probably knew that the University was not aggressively defending itself in the Reggie Bush saga. Pete was correct because even when the official Court transcript published the NCAA admitting it had nothing on Reggie Bush, the University cared less and did not represent the football program. How would you feel about having Pat Haden a member of the USC board of trustees announcing for NBC Notre Dame games? Seattle paid Pete a lot more money and gave Pete primary say on NFL draft day. Until USC learns to love football like Mississippi State, do not expect much from its leadership.

USC is most likely going after an NFL guy or a coach that has ties to the West Coast. I don?t see them going for Mullen or Franklin. I don?t see Mullen leaving UF unless it?s for the NFL

I love Cajun country but if I were rich enough to own a copter, I'd pick So-Cal. Fort Worth is as bad as I will ever tolerate driving wise.

Cool. But the other 21 positions.....?

If you go on youtube and watch Anaheim Mater Dei play Dallas Duncanville, you will see Mater Dei crucify one of Dallas's finest programs player per player across the board. Also if you youtube Los Angeles St John Bosco playing Miami Central, a top three Florida program, you will see Miami get crucified almost as bad. Both Florida and Texas teams defensive fronts were reduced to Pop Warner status player per player across the board by the opposition offensive lines.

What does Bert Stare have to say on the matter?**

It's USC, they can pull in talent from anywhere as long as you give the recruits reason for optimism
