From Mike Leslie (verified twitter acct - Dallas ABC reporter)
The Texas A&M Board of Regents will meet on Monday at 5 pm CT, "for discussion and possible action on contractual and governance issues relating to Texas A&M University and the Southeastern Conference."

Lol, suck it up, aTm. Get your boosters in line, and you can out pay pretty much everyone in the sec for recruits legally now... well, except your new member from your home state lol
-
If they are seriously considering leaving the SEC, that is the ultimate "cut off your nose to spite your face" move.
-
Maybe Jimbo wants to go back to the ACC. I would think they would love to play Texas again. Remember whoever won that game got to go visit Dolly Partons' place!!
-
The way that the SEC handled this is chickenshit. You don't go behind other members and stab them in the back like this, make no mistake they would do it to us in a heartbeat even quicker. Either you run the organization by the rules or you have chaos, what is being done here will lead to much bigger problems down the road for schools like us, we are far down the list of priorities.

Keith Carter said he was surprised by this development....how in the hell does a member AD (our AD also) get left out of this major change in the SEC and college football.
Stinky should be fired immediately...or yesterday.... which ever comes first.
BTW... texas and ou joining the SEC does not help us in any shaped form or fashion. (Besides we already have all the pretentious AH's supplied by the school up north that we need.)
Obviously, T A&M was in the dark also....Stinky works for the member schools of the SEC...not for himself.

A real strategic approach would not have this many in the dark....unless there is now Two SEC membership classes.
The parents driving the suburban Alabama and Florida with a bunch kids in the back watching Disney movies. "Why are we stopping in Austin!"

If Cohen and Keith Carter were smart, they'd team up with another AD (Ark, Vandy, Auburn, etc.) to wield some power in this situation. It could be something like favorable placement in a pod or more accountability for officials, maybe even assurances from Sanke the SEC will battle for more baseball schollys. It is rare for the "left behinds" to have power and a great time to at least get something.

You would that several of us "mid pack" and "lower pack" SEC schools would team up with aTm and block the deal.

Not necessarily block it, but have to be "talked into it" and get something for our support. Like insisting on having Ark in a pod (with us, UM and LSU), this will certainly be better than having a TAMU or Bama in our pod. Bama is going to do everything possible to get us in their pod, we're their late night booty call.

Not a fan of TX getting in. On the Austin sports shows Friday they were already bashing "having to come to MS to play anything in that state", etc. But on the other hand, after the budget cuts made due to Covid shutdowns and how the Big10 tried to make everyone follow them on their decision(without discussing with the other conferences), the SEC has to do this and not have to be concerned with other conference politics anymore

In ten years, I predict the SEC will no longer be part of the NCAA and the system will look something like this....
1. Each team gets 5 slots to fill as they choose. They can recruit these 5 players however they wish but you can only get 5 new players each year through this method.
2. High Schoolers can declare themselves eligible for the SEC draft. All players not chosen as one of a school's top 5 go into a draft. They will be paid similar to the MLB slot sytem and each team gets 15 picks.
It is so obvious that the SEC is basically trying to become the NFL for 18 to 22 year olds. A draft is inevitable and this system would be fun as it would maintain recruiting for the Top 5 players and the intrigue of a draft for the rest of the roster. Players will be getting compensated well but would have to surrender some of their freedom of choice as they are now professional athletes. Mississippi State would essentially became an NFL Franchise for the 18-22 year old NFL.

As soon as Stanky shows the existing schools for an additional $20-25 million per year, they all will be shouting SEC SEC SEC!

Like giving a person 25 mil before pushing him out of a plane without a parachute at 20,000 feet. You are rich for a while....

It would be nice to know where Cohen and Kenum stand on this.... I get the feeling they're ok with it.... they should have consulted ED first
OXFORD, Miss. (WTVA) - Ole Miss campus police ask students to behave at future baseball games following a recent incident.
The university said students were reportedly throwing rocks at Georgia baseball players during last weekend's series.

Yep. One (incredibly uninformed) concern is schools that don't bring in a certain amount to boost the bottom line will be put on notice.

It was reported last night that all SEC University Presidents knew about this and were involved. Just because done boosters are pissed they didn’t know dies not mean Sanky did this behind anyone’s back. Nine of us really know yet.

Texas will probably be trying to push us out in 10 years or convincing some of the other schools to break away and form a super conference.

Naw, being a charter school no way the original schools would do that.
