I would be shocked if we didn't have a university employee that spent 80% of their time on social media looking to sic the twitter police on wrong think. Might wouldn't expect them to be in the athletic department. But unfortunately the same garbage culture that is at most schools is coming to MSU. Can't avoid it when that's 95% of what's coming out of graduate programs.

We are about to lose a big 3 coach due to this overbearing micromanaging political theater of Cohen?s. Cohen needs to learn its sports he?s in charge of and to start having winning programs.
It's amazing how everything is politicized these days. Let it go, man. The democrats won this year. Your side will get a chance to turn the tables in 2022. Then their side will try to change things in 2024. It's called democracy. Let's focus on sports instead of a bunch of people in DC who don't know our names and don't actually give a crap about us.

Cohen needs to be fired, but not for that.

We're still waiting on who the coach we're losing is going to be....we've got to get started on the Coaching Hot Board. Everyone knows Cohen takes the opinions of ED very seriously.

You keep that tinfoil hat on tight buddy. It's too late for most of us.

A slight thread hijack here but I've honestly got to know. What the hell does Cohen's political beliefs have to do with being the AD? Like he's not a subpar AD because he's a liberal. He's a supbar AD because he has no athletic admin. experience. Whether he's a Trump supporting conservative or a Bernie Sanders supporting socialist he's still a supbar AD. He was very good baseball coach and he was a liberal then, it's not like his political leanings have changed. Cohen being the AD hasn't magically changed the athletic dept. from conservative to liberal. It was already that way well before Cohen and will be after him as well.

Already said it once in this thread, but if such things actually mattered at all to Cohen, there's no way in hell he would have hired Leach. That's all the evidence you need to know that this idea that Cohen's supposed quest to impose any certain ideology on our athletic department is a figment of some politically-obsessed imaginations.

Exactly. People just need a boogieman, I suppose.

That was going to be my next point actually. If he was so obsessed to push his political ideology on the athletic dept. then there's no way we would've hired one of the biggest Trump supporters in college athletics.

As others have said we do need people monitoring social media.
The key is interpretation and knowing what is really public opinion vs a Twitter mob of people that don?t really reflect the opinion of students and alumni.
Too many places are letting a very small % of people who scream loudly and may have no connection to the entity start controlling their decisions.

Monitoring OK, controlling that is another issue.

It may not affect his hiring but it doesn't mean those things don't matter to him or that he may step too far. Those are two different things.

You missed the whole point. Got nothing to do with who won what when.
Has to do with bullying any other opinion if it doesn't agree with yours. People threatened with their jobs, livelihood, etc. Happens every day. Funny thing is it only happens one direction. Why do liberals not complain about it? Because conservatives believe in the constitution, freedom, etc. and don't practice the bully, cancel culture tactics.
