Is KJ a legit Heisman candidate?
Trevor Lawrence is probably still the frontrunner, but if you can throw for 623 yards and win against LSU in Baton Rouge, you'll be putting up huge numbers all year against everyone.
If we go 7-3 or better, KJ is surely a finalist.

If he throws for 380 yards against Arkansas next week, which is certainly doable, he'll have 1,000 yards in 2 games. Think about that.
-
If he keeps up this pace, he'll win it.

To win the heisman in the sec, you have to beat bama.

Yep. Unfortunately the Heisman is not for the best player in college football anymore. Hasn't been for a while. It's a popularity contest between the big schools.

Way too early but he looks the part.
-
Yes.
He's a first round QB playing in the air raid with a good OL.

Quit Your Bi$&$&?!, He's Not Going to Run the Ball More

He’s legit, but we all know he won’t win it. Bama is still Bama. But A&M and Auburn looked like horse shit yest. And people can say all they want about oh well it was their first game and their only gonna get better. Yea well, so will we...

yep
Not only did Mississippi State embarrass LSU on this night. Davis Wade Stadium wrecked Tiger Stadium in music choice, atmosphere and, most of all, volume.
When I'm 80 and deaf, it's not going to be all those Springsteen concerts or Queen at Municipal Auditorium in New Orleans on Halloween Night in 1978, it will be this game...............Glen Guilbeau--Sherveport Times

Great human interest story. Transfer from Stanford to Starkville, and the SEC. Sports is looking for these kinds of stories right now.

In the last decade, QBs from Baylor and Louisville (not "big schools") won the Heisman in years where their teams were good, but not contender for national title good.

Tebow won it when Florida lost 3 or 4 games, right?

If we go 9-1 and that only loss is to Bama but he puts up gigantic numbers, he?ll win the heisman.
They are not the win all lose all when it comes to that reward.
Hell, the QB from Louisville won it and he wasn?t even the best QB in his conference. (It was Deshaun Watson)

Yes, these are the last 13 winners, along with the team's record as of the day they won.
- 2007 - Tim Tebow, Florida, 9-3, never in national title conversation
- 2008 - Sam Bradford, Oklahoma, 12-1, had been selected for BCSNCG
- 2009 - Mark Ingram, Alabama, 13-0, had been selected for BCSNCG
- 2010 - Cam Newton, Auburn, 13-0, had been selected for BCSNCG
- 2011 - Robert Griffin III, Baylor, 9-3, never in national title conversation
- 2012 - Johnny Manziel, Texas A&M, 10-2, never in national title conversation
- 2013 - Jameis Winston, Florida State, 13-0, had been selected for BCSNCG
- 2014 - Marcus Mariota, Oregon, 12-1, had been selected for Playoff
- 2015 - Derrick Henry, Alabama, 12-1, had been selected for Playoff
- 2016 - Lamar Jackson, Louisville, 9-3, had lost last 2 games to be out of Playoff contention
- 2017 - Baker Mayfield, Oklahoma, 12-1, had been selected for Playoff
- 2018 - Kyler Murray, Oklahoma, 12-1, had been selected for Playoff
- 2019 - Joe Burrow, LSU, 13-0, had been selected for Playoff
Yes, most of the time, it goes to a player on a Playoff team, but 4 times in the last 13, it's gone to a player from a team not in the conversation. It's definitely not out of the question that KJ could win it if we go 8-2 or even 7-3.
