Some have the impression Ole Miss is dumb. They aren't. They are extremely smart and calculated. They won in a major way. You don't have to get something in return to win. Just sow some bad seed in your opponents field and that's exactly what they did.
OM wanted both. Would have had both but Leach put his foot down. JJ have been a ?starter? but he was soft as charmin and Lovett was always about Lovett. We will be ok. Don?t fret

Cohen was the one that put his foot on their throat, In that 7:30 am call he let them know that D. Russell was at that party saw the coach there heard the offers and knew who threw the party. D. Russell went straight to our guys and there is the sign.

But Leach needs to be in Starkville instead of Key West to stop our players from leaving.**

I wasn't aware the Marine Corps had a transfer portal or you could opt out at Boot Camp. We glad you decided to stick around ****
Just kidding bruh. But seriously ... I don't think you had any alternatives but to stay committed.

The jones situation, on the other hand, rotten.
Lovett had his dad wearing him out from the day he signed.

So true! The bastard refused to sign Fabien's LOI on signing day, he later relented. The reason he didn't want Fabien to sign with MSU was we weren't going to pay him! I am so sorry for that kid to have such a sorry parent like that. My opinion!

I saw several quit. Some refused to train and were processed out... A few took their own lives...
You could definitely "quit"....

Didn't know they let you go without extremely extenuating circumstances. Wasn't in the Marines myself but have family members who were. Never really heard of that.
I guess relative to the other option ... that's like always an option to someone anywhere if they wanna take it.

So there is an article in the CL about a teacher that got his master's at ole miss who was arrested. The article talks about the racism that ole miss has within it's name, on campus, etc. To think Fabian Lovett used racism as an excuse to transfer and was going to transfer to a university like that is just amusing.

Yeah, they (the Corps) nor any other organization on the planet can "force" you to do anything... they'll extend you, make it worse than actual bootcamp, but they can't "make you be a Marine".... that has to be chosen and earned.

The things is they can keep you there for up to 180 days. That's 180 days of hellish like prison. The fastest way off Parish Island was to graduate. Regardless almost everyone has that OH **** moment there.

we started with 82 recruit and graduated 57. Broken bones and injuries took many of them. We had one guy the 2nd day threaten to take his own life. The Drill Instructor went over to the window, opened it and said "JUMP YOU PIG". He did not jump but a few weeks later he slit his wrist. When it happened the same Drill Instructor said to him, "Oh you ****ed up now". We never saw that recruit again.

saw the exact same thing from Ft Jackson .... and Jack, I had the exact same thought that first night ... but you're right -it's a commitment that was carefully considered well in advance
OXFORD, Miss. (WTVA) - Ole Miss campus police ask students to behave at future baseball games following a recent incident.
The university said students were reportedly throwing rocks at Georgia baseball players during last weekend's series.

A recruit in a neighboring series tried to hang himself from the 3rd floor, outside stairwell with bed sheets he'd tied together... the knot came apart and the fall killed him...
The next day, one of our DIs gave us a class on how to properly tied bed sheets together....
Those were the days......
