I will try to simplify this even further.
In NYC, over the past 5 years, an average of 5500 people died from March 11 - April 13th.
From March 11 - April 13th this year, 18500 died.
That's 13000 more expected deaths than usual.
The confirmed # of coronavirus deaths on April 13 was 7905.
