    need
    Collins at 500K
    Gonzo at 350K
    Hev at 300K
    I guess Desha to 275k
and everyone else at 250k except for Scott who prob goes back to office

That's not but like a 150k increase when you subtract what Les made.
hire a ST and QB coach and we are under 500K raises for the whole staff and new hires..

I think it would be interesting to see a direct comparison of the entire OM coaching staff's salaries position by position to ours. I mean, being honest, no other SEC school is in as similar position to us as OM and I think it would be telling. I know Dave Wommack (DC) makes $550K compared to Geoff Collins at $291K but I don't know how the rest of their staff compares.

If someone has the time, compare the cost of living in Columbia vs. Starkville

You can view them all right here, and you will see how pathetic our salaries are.

Look, the Ole Miss coaches just got raises and the MSU coaches are about to. Therefore, any comparison before the MSU coaches get their raises is inaccurate and a waste of time.

However, I do question the strategy of our AD by delaying the announcement of staff raises till some unknown date.

Stricklin is playing with fire here because he or Mullen has decided to delay staff raise announcement for an unknown reason, but if we lose Collins before the raises are announced, the Stricklin must be prepared to wear this and have the fan base hating his ass.

The AD should go ahead and announce raises so everyone will stop complaining and to cover his own ass.

OK, so looking over that list we aren't really that out of whack with the OM staff except for at the DC position. Actually Koenning made 16K more per year at our OC spot than Werner made this year at OM.

He probably wants to wait until all the staff changes are settled down. For instance, if they knew Koenning was gone, it would raise questions if you announced all the 2014 coach salaries and didn't include Koenning.

I agree, I'm just saying that Stricklin is playing with fire by doing that.

If Collins leaves after his raise is announced, then few people blame Stricklin.

If he leaves before it is announced, Stricklin is in trouble.

I don't doubt that, but that won't matter to the fans and boosters in how they view Stricklin.

If Collins leaves before the raises are announced, most people will look at Stricklin as a cheap bastard that ran off a great coach. They aren't going to believe Stricklin when he tries to save face by saying that Collins had already agreed to a raise. It's just going to sound like a desperate attempt by Stricklin to cover his own ass.

Collins has probably been offered and has agreed to a raise. The problem is its insufficient.

If Strick offers Collins $50-100k more he is going to take it. Then when he interviews at FSU or any other job he's going to leverage it for more or leave.

Bottom line - if we were paying Collins what we should: $5-600k we would have announced it because we were proud of it. We'd be proud that we were shattering that glass ceiling of assistant coach pay at MSU. What's more, making an announcement makes a statement that Mississippi State is serious about paying Collins so it won't be easy to pry him away.

But no. We've likely offered Collins $350-400k a year. Nothing to be proud of because he's still by far the lowest paid DC in the SEC. It's either that or Collins hasn't agreed to anything.

Nothing may happen, but Im bracing myself for it. Almost expecting it. If Strick blows this he is dead to me.
