Mississippi and Starkville. Mullen is as good as we?ll get. We can?t get the players to consistently play with the blue bloods. Kids don?t want to be in MS and Starkville is the middle of nowhere. It?s hell recruiting here. I brought a kid from Cali in to coach a team and I?m about to lose them because they say ?MS sucks?.

We had the talent to win in 2014 and we didn't get it done. That's my point and I liked dan and wish he would've stayed but he pissed away that season. When dan had the talent here he didn't coach like he's coaching now that's on him

So I guess the question is... will Dan have the players to compete with GA and ultimately Bama? UF will recruit itself for top 10 but is that enough. USC beating UGA and UF beating Auburn pretty soundly makes me think he can. Obviously Felipe getting hurt has helped Dan tremendously. How was he not starting from the beginning?

He had a good roster but we weren’t going to completely out talent LSU/Bama and several others. He managed to go 3-2 in big games that year. I would take one win against a good team now.

I understand if people wanted him gone because he wanted to leave but for those that thought we could find a better coach they are short sighted and don’t know our history or are just delusional. Many here got chastised for being alright with 7-5 to 8-4 seasons with an occasional 10+ win season when in reality that is much much better than what we have done historically. Mullen will won an sec championship before it’s said and done at Florida. He’s a hell of a coach.

That's the thing I never wanted him to
leave but there was no reason we shouldn't have gone 12-1 in 2014, none, no excuse for it. And if he would've been as aggressive olaycalling in the first half as the second half we could've beat bama too.

ETA i defended Mullen and wish he would've stayed. But after the bama game in 2014 he just got lackadaisical.

Collins and Mullen got into it in 2014. Dan had to play AL every year. He doesn’t now except in the ship. AL killed him. We didn’t have the talent either. We got a lot out of the talent we had. Never recovered after AL loss.
