Still think we're the 3rd best team in the SEC? Still think we win 11?

Different year, but last season, it was 35-3 at half. We had 5 offensive possessions and scored a td on all 5. Fitz had 4 incompletions in the 1st half

If they don?t like it they just can?t stand to hear it, kinda of a sad commentary about our society.

He has actually played pretty well, just taking a little long on his decisions at times but hopefully that will improve. His shorter passes have been on target.

Defense has had one bad drive. Special teams cost us a TD. The issues on offense look more like rust / not used to game speed than lack of talent.

This offense is just like last year. Very slow. Looking over to the sidelines changing the play, letting the clock run down. I had hopes we would go faster this year with a new QB. I guess no such luck, just Moorhead's system. But I, for one, really dislike it.

Work out the kinks now. Get guys the live game reps that they are not used to.
Memphis 13 - OM 0
Toledo 14 - UK 14
MSU 21 - ULL 14
The entire SEC is struggling this morning.
That's cool if you put us in Kentucky and OM's level, but you yourself said there's a better chance we go 12-0 than 6-6. That seems to imply we are on another level than Kentucky and om

Well if we didn’t shoot ourselves in the foot it could easily be 35-7 in this game.

That was also the 3rd game of the year, and Fitz's 2nd. Already had time to work out typical first game issues.

On the good note, everything I see right now is pretty much coaching. Hill, Mitchell, and Stevens looks like they are here to work. Get a little bit of tempo and get into a groove and we pull away.
On defense, we have sucked so far. People out of position. People not tightening their coverage. People not tackling. That is coaching and players. Shoop should adjust at half.
Lets go.

Selective watching. We have moved with tempo today between the 20s (drive to end 1st Q, last two drives have all done this with a check one play each drive that just stands out). The red zone is where the offense slows way down.

Fitz was 14/21 243 yds 2 td 0 int vs ULL last season. Not sure what you base this on.

There hasn't been a lot about that half of football to be happy with given the competition. That is just the reality of things. Gotta love the MSU board police fans though.

Good take. I think that is what it is more then anything. Remember this is the first time Stevens has started since high school.

I don't usually agree with you, but you've been on point in this thread.

Where was Fitz in his first ever start? What game was that in the schedule? These things matter. That half of football looked more like a first game. The ULL game last year was what the 3rd or 4th game on the schedule?

Exactly. I look to clean it up this half.
