I have to admit that when they said he had never come into a situation like this before I muttered to myself that all that meant is that we had no chance due to RAT! So glad to be wrong.

I was thinking when they said he never has relived before and a sore shoulder, it would give us a chance!

It was a gamble by Butch but the pitcher gave them the outs to win that game. Defense let him and Butch down. And we just don’t quit

Can we get that entire team there for the next game.

Swinging at junk on first pitches. Swinging at bad balls when your in positive counts. Just working the pitch count a little bit to make the opposing pitcher work a little harder. Trust me, we took way more bad swings at crap pitches than hitting hard balls at someone. Also, I don't mind a first pitch swinging approach in most situations, but it better be a damn good pitch and something you were looking for.

Yep. Butch doesn't fit in at that place but when an sec hc job comes open you take it. Butch is a good man.

It just took eight innings for us to settle into the tournament. Now we're ready.

That UMPs strike zone was the shape of Massachusetts. Nothing above the belt. But he gave the outside and ankle high pitch most of the game.

Or we could pitch Small again Friday and have whoever we don't pitch tomorrow fully fresh for the championship series...and still bring back the guy we do pitch tomorrow for that series. It makes too much sense. I think Small can do it. He did throw 102 pitches last night, but I think he could at least give us 70-80 on Friday. If he can get us through 4-5 in good shape, that is a huge boon, especially since we'll have a rested pen no matter what if we can win tomorrow.

Will readily admit, I had wicked 'flashbacks' to '13 CWS UCLA championship games. We just couldn't take advantage when we got on and even in scoring position.

The game was different in that we kept getting runners on with 0 or 1 out and failing to get them in while they didn't get runners on until 2 outs and they got them in. But I guess "that's baseball".
