I was there, and roasted through it all, and I'm not worried at all about Miami/Central Michigan.

We did look like we lost focus at times, but I think Ginn coming out kinda threw everyone off. I just pray to God that he's okay, because we won't be going far without him

He was right back in dugout cheering everyone on, so that is good at least.

Lemo said he was just a little tight. A week off and he'll be good to go

I think the home run that Rowdey couldn't quite get from Southern woke us up. We really locked in after that as a team. I don't think our guys liked them celebrating outside their dugout too much.

Could be the best thing to happen to us this postseason.

Yeah. He threw one warm up toss and it looked OK but certainly best not to risk it.

I know Mac didnt have a hit but he looked on it today. I think he is going to have a huge postseason. He did have a RBI I think

I thought he had a solid day considering the circumstances. He got on a couple of times. He hit a ball today that I think would have gone out if he was 100%.

Mac had a few hard hit balls. That was good to see.

Foscue and Rowdey had a great game.

Westburg came through and got a big hit. Maybe he's waking up.

    Allen ALMOST went yard.

Overall, we had some good at-bats and hit the ball hard. Granted, this will be the weakest pitching staff we face from here on out.

I don't think you understood what I said.

I think we're better than Miami and I think Miami is better than Central Michigan. However the gap between us and Miami is closer than the gap from Miami to Central Michigan. I haven't watched a full game of Miami and I've seen none of Central Michigan. I'm basing this on the numbers though, not gut.

Congrats from a SU fan. Great ball park. Amazingly way better than LSU?s. But as far as a SWAC team comment, y?all need to research SU?s baseball history. Lou Brock is Alum. The only player to be the #1 overal pick twice, Danny Goodwin is a SU Jag. SU has a NAIA national championship and playing in the World series multiple times. SU also has two national player of the year winners, Danny Goodwin in 1975 and Golden Spikes winner Rickie Weeks in 03. Between 02-04 SU had the most players drafted in college baseball 24. Coco Crisp was at SU and couldn?t get on the field so he transferred after his freshmen season. We were down the last 5 years because of NCAA and a aging Legend coach but we will be back shortly.

It was more of an overall talent advantage comment. Yes, some great players come from leagues all over the place.

That being said I personally like how the Southern coaches really focus on bunting for hits. Laying down bunts for hits is a lost art and can really close the talent gap of teams. The pressure makes a team play tight and get off of their game. See Coastal Carolina a few years back. Yalls coach is a good one. He was calling pitches and giving interview at same time. Being a former scout he knows as much about the game as almost anyone in baseball. Enjoy the weekend and best of luck the rest of the way.

Lastly, I thoroughly enjoyed yall breaking one off in whiny ass Manieri and LSU earlier this year. I live in New Orleans and their fans were excessively cocky before the season and they were ranked #1. Had some of the make snide comments before the year at work. Love seeing the corndogs squirm.

Can someone post the Manieri gif of him jumping at home plate?

I think Southern may have had the best SWAC baseball team ever back in the day with Weeks and Dewan Day.

Also- I think the HBCU World Series is a cool idea.

That team was great but I think the 01 team with 2 first round draft picks and a 3rd rounder(Mississippi native Fred Lewis) might have been better. Also the teams from the 50?s- the late 70?s were Uber talented. Lou Brock barely made the team.

I played with Fred one season in summer ball. Too bad he had Barry Bonds ahead of him in Giants organization. Limited his career. Dude could fill up the gaps and stretch singles into double all day.

Chipper Jones says that Dennis Eckersley's excessive celebration triggered the Aggravated Sodomy the Braves gave the Cardinals in 1996 NLCS...ultimately to lose the World Series to the Damn Yankees

Love the Eck's passion, but I can see how it could trigger people
