First off, I have no idea if there even is an agreement. Let's say there is though, he could leave immediately if he so chose to and follow carter to Japan. Most likely he would just take the ball, but that's terrible business to just backtrack like that. Again though, I have no idea if there's some sort of agreement... I'd hope so though bc kid has a future.

You penalize yourself by not taking care of a kids arm w big time potential. It's not hard to understand.

Lemonis is proving how good of a coach he is

Exactly! You mess one up and word gets around. It's detrimental to the player and the program both.

If we are in a win or go home scenario and I have my choice of Plumlee or Ginn, right now I take Plumlee. Doesn't mean he's better than Ginn, but he's been there done that before and has a crap ton more experience on his side.
Let Ginn get his feet wet against a team he should dominate. Get the confidence up and get him rolling. We will need him in a big time situation if we are going to win the whole thing.
Exactly!

This. Confidence boost, and you don't go to the Regional Final depending on two freshmen as your only starters. I still would have liked to see Plumlee or even Smith throw vs Southern, but I can understand why Lemonis is making this choice, and as long as we win the Regional I'm cool with it. We will need JT to beat great teams if we want to win it all, so if smoking Southern is the confidence boost he needs...I'm good with it.

Next Friday is the Super Game-1, I think you want give pitchers regular, predictable rest. Ginn vs Stanford next Saturday is ok too.

Future recruits.

uhhhh guess you missed the A&M game that was his best game by far this year from a pitch count, command and location standpoint... a bobble in right field cost that game ...

I also think its overblown how "bad" he pitched against LSU last time out. He struck out 5 of the first 7 guys he faced. Only gave up 4 hits before he was pulled....

If we lose to Miami with Small it means we have to come back and beat a decent CMU team and then Miami TWICE with Plumlee, Smith, and....Cerantola? Ginn won’t go on two days rest, not happening.
We could win tomorrow with Keegan James on the mound, I’m sorry but Ginn is wasted here and essentially puts all our eggs in Ethan Small’s basket. A loss to Southern is not happening but if we then lost to UM with Small we could finish up with three decent starts in Ginn, Plum, and Smith. Now we can’t.

I just disagree. We need to start one of either Ginn or Plumlee. I thought it would be Plumlee. I like the Ginn decision. This Southern team beat LSU. Something we struggle to do. We HAVE TO win the first game.

Nope, not at all. He's still excellent. He was just on another level before the shoulder deal.
-
I like it only if Ginn is on a pitch count and this is a glorified bullpen session that allows Ginn to come back for a winner take all final game on Monday.
Start Ginn and let him go three innings. Bring in Brandon Smith for three. Bring in Cetentola for two. Bring in Colby White to close it out. If it's a blowout close with Keegan James.

You're correct if it isn't a glorified bullpen session. If it is a glorified bullpen session then we go with Small against someone's two. Then if we win that we go with Plumlee against a three. Then we could go with Brandon Smith in a game four and if we have to play Monday go back with Ginn.
It could actually set us up where we use Ginn for a potential championship game in a Super Regional as well.
Now if Lemonis doesn't do this- I reserve the right to agree with you after the fact.

The truth is people are trying to spin this into a positive MSU thing. If Ginn goes deep it is definitely questionable. And it wouldn't be the first time this year that this staff has done something questionable with the staff if we are all honest with ourselves here.
