Would be absolutely huge. And another SEC win against anyone almost puts us in the regionals by me calculations.

Agree. And now we just need to get Cole Gordon going again to add to Leibelt and Barlow.

Cole to me is an innings eater mid-reliever then he is a closer. He has a five pitch repertoire. That to me doesn’t spell closer. It spells utility like we used Ross on the 2013 team.

Yep right on. Coles so versatile. Great guy to have in the pen but more of a
Middle guy than closer.

Exactly. And that's what I want his role to be especially since Plumlee is our third starter and is only going to give us 3-5 IP.

Lemonis did make some questionable coaching decisions last weekend but I think a lot of it had to do with our lack of an approach at the plate like we have had this weekend. Coaching decisions regarding the pen are a lot easier when you put up 8, 19, and 9 runs which brings me to our bats not hitting last weekend imo doomed us to the sweep over the pitching woes.

I’m gonna go out on a limb and say our overall approach didn’t change much. Last weekend we just got outputched and outhit...it’s baseball...it happens. We swept Arky last yr and they shoulda won it all. Just like UGA losing this series to us doesn’t doom their season. The one sport where over reactions are extremely dumb is baseball

If I have to gripe about something, it's that we gave UGA many opportunities to come back in this game. Our 5-1 could have been 5-6 with just two timely hits.
We survived UGA due to their bad hitting. A more clutch team could killed us today. LSU and Arkansas come to mind.
Ginn and Barlow were given about three ABs too many.

I think our hitters started to press after the first loss. Which occurred because we left a relief pitcher in way too long unnecessarily. It's water under the bridge. The bullpen has been managed much better this week. Literally the only thing I would have done differently is throw Leibelt the 7th and 8th inning of the Governor's Cup and Colby White the last inning. And that's semantics basically.

That's why we need Gordon back. And Keegan too. That's part of why they are getting overextended.

Allen also made plays this game that he didn’t against LSU. Our right side of our infield is better then it was against LSU. Allen and Ginn made the play today to keep it at 5-1 that didn’t get made against LSU between Halter and Ginn that led to a 3-0 lead in the first for LSU on that Friday game which was a huge momentum swing. We also weren’t nearly this patient at the plate last weekend against Arkansas to put pressure on their pitching staff. I love having Skelton and Gilbert batting 7 and 8 as they tax the pitchers and drive their pitch count up. The approach we are using this weekend would have given us a chance to take 2 from Arkansas last weekend.

I sure don't agree, We dominated the last two games. We had a couple innings that we could have scored much more.
