Won’t shock me at all to see him this fall playing as a frosh .. and he is on defense there ..
He will transfer if they play him on defense. Hes not a DB and never was.

Mr. Green Bay did a pathetic job recruiting him but even after the switch he was just too in bed with the Confederates. Guess we will never know for sure, but I don't think we were as close on these two as we would like to make ourselves believe. Now I do think the staff we have now is a MUCH better overall recruiting staff than what we had last year. Two of the guys that left were in the NFL and had no clue what was required to recruit in the SEC and the other, Baker, is an excellent coach but probably a below average recruiter. Even swapping out Hud for Hughes was a good trade though Hud was definitely the best recruiter of what we lost.
I know we were close with Mingo. Very close. And yes Getsy was a bad recruiter, Mingo didnt like him and Mullen recruiting him as a safety hurt us more than anything else. That and OM played their game to an extent.

Deke Adams, Johnson and Marve are all good coaches. I have been really impressed with all of them.

OM has been known for telling a player, who they really want, what the player wants to hear, in order to hopefully get them to send that fax in on signing day.

Ole Miss will do ANYTHING to get a player that they really want. As we all know.
I hope Joe figures out a way to counter that better than Dan did.

To add on to that, they will also do anything they can to keep us from getting that player, especially if he's in MS.

I agree. I think we're honest to a fault in recruiting.

Yeah, I am not sure what is so bad about telling the best RB in the state that they would probably take all of Kylin's carries as a true freshman in 2019. Like, dude you are so good I am sure with a little bit of practice and looking over the playbook you will be in the starting lineup.
Or, we are after a really good player to start immediately. You have that skill level. Come to MSU, get up to speed, and take over the SEC.
Once they get to campus, they will realize real quick they know only 1/10th of what they need to to start.

Now, with the new 4 game rule for redshirting...you can absolutely tell a kid he will play as a freshman and not be lying.

I could see how someone who has no connection to the kids involved would say that but a school doing that will do them no favors in the long run. With that kid or that high school and the coaches there.
Not a lot of respect for those college coaches openly lying to kids just to get them to sign. Its a major decision for the kid and the family

Tell it Bucky, lying never gets you anything but caught in a lie. Coaches like you will learn and let the kids know, and those schools that lie will be learned and they are ruined in that school. Best thing is to be honest and gain respect with the coaches and schools. You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to BuckyIsAB**** again.

During the recruiting process there is plenty of lying happening on both sides. 90% of the time it works out. The kids and teams should both do their research on each other and go from there. Anytime money is involved the kid better know regardless of how good he is smoke is being blown up his butt.

If you think that 90 percent of the kids that sign are happy a year later you dont know enough kids

Not trying to make the thread anti recruiting or anti college coaches either Im just saying that is not the best way to do it in the long run. In my opinion. Lots of them do it right and Im sure some kids are open to playing another position and some may need to change

Fully agree Bucky! That’s why I pull for guys like Dabo. It’s good to see coaches that realize they are in the position to better kids lives and turn boys into men. Those that want to Waller in the mud and lie to kids need to go be a rebelbearshark.
