    Jones will be a .400 hitter if he commits to just hitting it and stops trying to hit a HR. That's his 2nd deep flyout today, either one could have been solid hits if he just drive them

    Problem is he is calling balls so far off the plate that I'm not even sure the hitter can foul off, much less actually try to get an actual hit off of. If you got up far enough on the plate to hit that then you would be totally unable to hit anything on the inside corner.

    Exactly that's the thing... if you're going to call that you're giving them a free K because no hitter alive can deal with an extra 7 inches of strike zone
