Halter could be a perfect 9 hole guy

He'll hit .230-.250 ish but at least he's got some power. He's not a good hitter, but can hit some Doubles and about 5-7 HRs. That is fine for the 9 hole so long as he plays good defense. I can handle below average hitter so long as they can collect extra base hits and at least offer you the chance of changing a game.

I agree. Skelton looks to jittery back there at times. He costs us strikes on a few occasions. Hayden looks smooth and is lightning quick with a .colt for an arm. He needs to hit the ball better, and I think he would sqeeuze Skelton out of the starting spot.

I'm not looking at him vs ysu..we don't play ysu all yr. I'm looking at him as a guy that could fit in well with our lineup in the 9 hole...for the season.

He's already showing he's ok trying to go other way and take what's given. That tells me he can hit in the 9 hole and not act like he's hitting cleanup.

Except for Krueger we've spent so long with catchers that couldn't hit and also didn't play defense. This kid can defend. And it looks so far he's not scared at the plate. He hits 220 in sec it will be fine. Over that which I think he can do is gravy.

No doubt. Foscue has the worst luck at the plate. Gets robbed a lot, and is a victim of some pretty bad strike calls too going back to last year. That being said, he is tattooing the ball so far. I hope he has a big year...looks like he has put in the weight room work

You should've heard what J Brantley said on the radio earlier today. When asked what surprised him the most when he got to the majors he replied how big everyone was. He said everyone was 6'2or bigger and he was only 5'10 or lose to that.
