Ginn got offered 2.4 million dollars. Ealy isn't going to get much more than that.

Is he a top 10 pick? Assigned value drops below 4 million around pick 14. Drops below 3 around pick 23.

I really have no idea what his draft stock. Only site I see him on is really old and has him at #20. That slot is around 3.1. And yeah, 3.1 would be more than enough for me to go pro

If he's a first rounder, I think he'd be a fool to go play cfb. I think it's very unlikely he will, but again, you never know what kids will do

There were significant starter/reliever concerns with Ginn that put in the 25-40 overall bracket of the draft. Similar questions surrounded Michael Kopech FWIW.

With Ealy, you are talking about a rare mix of power, speed, acceleration, & arm strength with no guessing on what his future position & role SHOULD be. That puts him in the 5-15 overall bracket

There is also a trend going with many major league teams to shy away from high school pitching early in the draft. There are exceptions, but the Tommy John surgery rate for pitchers is approaching 40% now. I think you're going to see more and more position players drafted earlier and pitching will come more from college in the early rounds. There will be exceptions, but I think that is going to be the trend.

Well folks.....this recruiting cycle is about complete

For sure we add:

Pickering
Cunningham (hopefully qualifies)
Payton
Walker
Duncan
Lawrence

We may or may not get:

Emerson
Moore
Mingo

so at worst we sign 20 and at best 23.....and we probably get a grad transfer. If we don't add 2/3 of the maybes this class will be a disappointment to me

High school pitchers are probably the biggest gamble of all. Very risky

Not saying, he won't go that high, haven't seen him. However, it's a long way until the draft and that kind of talk really means little to nothing. And while I agree, odds are he won't play football based on all the info, there is only one school that has a shot to have him on the football field and that's the one that signs him. I've just looked through 10 or so mock drafts, and the earliest I've saw him is 15th, most mid-20s. Now obviously these mean little, but the top 10 seems to be the same with a little different order. Also remember this... Seth beer was considered an absolute look to be #1 pick after his freshman year; he ended up #28 in his draft. Things can change

Nah, it means a good bit for him. He's got good baseball people around him and they know exactly what they're looking at.

We've got 24 spots under the 85. Any one heard anything about Shane Buechele? Seems like he would be a great fit. Really hoping we add Juwan Johnson as well.

Don't believe we're looking for a transfer QB. DL and WR are the priority. Plus the punter. I don't believe we'll get Johnson but he's going kick the tires. He wants to play with an established QB.
