Ealy's signing is most likely for rankings only. Now, I have no problem signing him and taking the bump in rankings - kids care about where you finished in recruiting. Plus its good pub for our class next year that looks strong already.

He might get tired of the minors and decide to come back to play football in the future. I think they have to hang for 3 years to get their guarantee money.

True - but if he does decided to come back and play football - he can go anywhere he wants. I would think he would go somewhere and try and play for one year and go to the NFL.

I suspect it will be the same as an athlete taking the money and signing somewhere else.

It's moot because no matter how out of control boosters are they will never, ever, ever compete with MLB when it comes to money. You're talking about millionaires competing with billionaires who can legal offer money.
