We catch Tennessee at a great spot in their schedule too. They have @UF, bye week, UGa, us, then Bama. We can catch them after being battered by 2 strong teams and looking ahead to Bama. Meanwhile, we will be coming of a bye week, at worst 4-1 - maybe 5-0 if AU has started to burn by then.

So 7-4 with a toss up. Like most I believe that 6 wins is the floor and 9 is the ceiling. The development of Shrader should be the most important thing for next year.

Auburn is a shit show right now with less known about their QB next season than we know. Their OL is not great and Gus is still there. Kentucky is losing a ton and comes to Starkville. We own A&M no matter who they have or who we have. I have no idea what Tennessee will be like. That may be my only road trip.
I want to add the disclaimer that this prediction is based upon the current QB situation where most of it is unknown. If we can somehow get the light to come on with on me of the guys we have, the win total should be closer to 8 minimum.

4 wins is our floor. 7 is our ceiling. We aren't winning more than 7
games. It's more likely to be somewhere in the middle, so I'm gonna guess 6-6.

I just cant see it, I believe we still field a top 20 defense next season. DT is the only real concern at a significant drop off. DE Rivers and Jones are gonna be studs. LB everyone is back. Secondary Abram is a big loss, but Peters is expected to fill the role. Offensively we are still going to run over the bad teams on our schedule. I think KT and Kylin are a dynamic duo and shock some ppl they are talented.

I think even if KT isn't up to par passing that as long as he is willing to hand the ball off instead of almost always keeping it then the offense will be good enough to beat the bad teams. Hopefully almost 2 years in that Key is successful in the offense.

DT is more than a concern. It's a major concern. We have 1 player than has taken a college snap there

So your saying our floor is 0-8 in the SEC? Way to aim high there sport.

Not disputing but no matter who is there it was never going to be Simmons. He is a insane talent granted somehow we have had 3 that caliber in a row. One coach on staff I have faith in is Brian Baker its also a position we have recruited decently. Wait and see mode here rather than saying we wont plug a run all season.

QB play can?t be much worse. The defense will still be solid. I think probably 7-5
-
I can see us winning 7, but I think we will take some severe beat downs in several games. Our defense kept that from happening this year. Next year look out.

We lose 50.8% (214/421) of our tackles, 55.8% (57.5/103) of our TFL, and 56.4% (22/39) of our sacks. Losing Simmons and sweat will have a major effect though bc teams no longer have to worry about doubling those guys.

Certainly not the same but I think Rivers has a huge year. Need spencer or another DL to step up

So how do you think next year's D ends up ranked? I think we'll be ok on the ends. On interior, probably be pretty good against the run but the push up the middle on passing downs won't be as good.

You can plug the same stats for say Kentucky. You have guys you have been grooming to take these spots Rivers, Kobe, Autry etc. that have another year of improvement and strength training. We also have a very good scheme with Shoop.

No idea. No one has an informed idea bc of the total question mark at DT. If the DTs hold up, we could be pretty good.
ETA...Someone gonna have to step up at safety too to replace abram

You're counting KSU as an automatic victory. Don't. That game is not a given for us
next year. Plus, if you notice I said our likely win total would be 6.

It's not that there are 5 teams we can't beat. But predicting 8 is assuming the same shitshow that we put on the field next year will not underachieve at all next year. It's possible, but that's not a bet I'm itching to make. I think we should win 8. I predict we will win 7, but that's based on us playing 6 really shitty teams, UT who could be shitty, and UK who should be not great.

I actually forget about Spencer, he looked like a difference maker as a freshman. Rivers and Spencer on the ends is a pretty good DE group. That honestly probably equals Sweat and Green especially if the rumors about Rivers looking like a beast in practices.

Abram will be tough to replace but a lot of people think Fred Peters is the guy to do it. Also Marcus Murphy should have a big year. Brian Cole will be back and he was the person they said was the most athletic of the group. Landrews will be back also and he was all over the place before he got hurt.
