Why, he played against some of the best church league teams in N.C.! **

Don't underestimate that Moorhead got HIS GUY with Schrader. He got the first offer he handed out when he got to MSU & he got a guy that he's been recruiting since he was a sophomore in HS.
What we don't know about Schrader is how well he already knows this offense. Is it possible that kid that has been recruited by Moorhead since he was a SO in HS & who has been attending Moorhead camps since then would know a ton about this offense already?
How do we know that Schrader isn't ALREADY ahead of the other two QBs in terms of knowing this offense?
Something to think about.
The trick for Moorhead will be to keep the other two QBs from transferring before the 5th game next season while also being convicted in a starter rather than pulling a Mullen & losing to South Alabama because he couldn't decided between Fitz & Williams
That's our best case scenario. I just don't have a lot of confidence in him reading SEC defenses as a freshman but maybe Moorhead can get him through it.
Anyway that's why I compare him to John Bond. We went 3-8 in Emory's first year because our QB's didn't fit Emory's system. So he brings in Bond who I assume ran the wishbone in high school and boom.

I think its clear Moorhead is doing everything possible to make sure its not KT. I also see no indication that it would be Mayden. Are we going to be going after a transfer until we get one? For some reason, I would still probably bet KT takes our first snap next year.
JoMo us not doing everything to keep him from it. Either KT can do it or he cant. There is no bias.

Tua didn't start a game not one. And FYI did you leave off sarcastrica cause he ain't tua not Lawrence, who was the number #1 qb in the country

While correct, I think Fitz's sub par quickness, heavy feet, & lack of pocket awareness had a ton to do with that.
One thing I am excited about with KT & Schrader is that both are quicker with significantly lighter feet than Fitz. That should allow us to scramble more & manipulate the pocket

Fitz couldn't do it, but he still got plenty of shots. Look I know your stance on this situation, and you could be right, but its a bad look for Moorhead to be lining him up at RB and WR.

I think at the very least Key would make better reads and throw a more catchable ball. That's improvement right there.

So your saying that Fitz doesn't move well in the pocket right? If so it's hard to have quick feet with a 270 DE hanging on your ass or a 220 LB coming unblocked right up,the middle on you.

He does not. Fitz is fast but not really quick. He runs well moving forward but not really laterally. Dak doesn't either.
Watch Brady, Romo, Rodgers, Luck, P Manning, etc if you want to see what I'm talking about

I didn't see that at all in the opener. Like the head guy said right church wrong pue. He can spin it though.

It was a joke

Remember his touchdown pass against Arkansas? He also threw some decent deep passes against Stephen F Austin. The thing I question about Key is his leadership. Maybe he'll step up.

The funny thing is there were a few people on here during the season bitching that we didn't run 2 QB sets like Joe had at PSU. They said we needed that wrinkle and with Fitz and KT it was stupid that we weren't.

MSU fans are notorious for wanting to do the opposite of whatever the current coach wants to do.

Absolutely, with no question. However we won?t go 2-10. 6-6 floor with a 9-3 ceiling next year

And also for a "grass is always greener on the other side of the fence" way of thinking.
Is Schrader a good student and capable of thinking fast?

Its not going to be Key per a current assistant coach I know. If it is, then 2 or 3 other options didn't pan out.

Let's look at the 1990s:
"Sleepy sucks! Put in Plump!"
"Why are we playing Plump? Put in Todd Jordan!"
"Jordan sucks! Whatever happened to that Hudson kid? We want Taite!"
"Taite sucks, put in that Wyatt kid from Tupelo!"
"Wyatt sucks! Put in that freshman Madkin!"
"Madkin sucks, put Wyatt back in! Shit he sucks too go back to Madkin!"

He graduated high school early so I assume he's a good student.

That doesn't surprise me. I actually would have been more surprised if he did start.

Ah yes. The 1990's. Sherrill couldn't develop a QB to save his life. Plump really was the worst. In 1999 we all made it work out somehow because Wyatt could run the two minute offense pretty well.

I know Greg. Great guy but as a qb not so much.
