No one on Twitter (other than the one SEC Mike guy) is even listing us as a possibility.

Well the only time Justin Fields was allowed to talk to any media all year was after the SEC Championship Game. So no one really knows what he's thinking right now. The SEC Mike guy just made a logical connection.

Fields might feel like he doesn't want to go to another school where he's going to be going up against other 4-5 star guys, so he'd rather go to where there's a good QB coach and he'll be THE guy. State would fit that mold. Or maybe he just doesn't like Kirby's hardcore coaching. Who knows. State at least has an in, so that's better than nothing.

I mean, I don't think it's crazy to think he might consider us since he has the Moorhead connection, we're in the SEC, and he would almost certainly start from day 1. But if it were anything more than a longshot there would probably be more smoke out there on the Internet.

I doubt Fields wants a QB battle with Tate Martell. He was the number 1 recruit in the 2017 class. I think we have as good of a shot as any. Especially with the Moorhead connection

Meant QB, but upon checking he was the number 2 QB......behind Tua. And it will be a battle if Fields goes there. Day is extremely high on Martell. Hell if Fields goes there lets just go get Martell. He's never lost a game he's started.
