Observations from the women's BB pounding of southern Miss....
1) We will get everyone's best shot in the first half.
2) Tiera gets pounded on every game now they even played box and 1 on her she still had double double.
3) Anriel is the heart and soul of this team she is relentless.
4) Dansberry is getting better every game her drives in the paint are hard to stop.
5) glad Vic played backups the whole 4th quarter they are as good defensively as first team.
6) our Achilles heal is ygetting back on defense. A 4 guard lineup gives us problems.
7) those southern announcers were very complimentary of our team.
8) we will beat Oregon. Hail State 86-42.

How many fans were at the game.

Just left, USM is not good, we had the entire crowd. 90% state.

Place was more than half full with only about a hundred mustard buzzard fans.

Our two biggest scoring threats are also our two best rebounders and paint defenders. Pretty cool

Our failure to get back on defense is baffling.

I was amazed at the rock star atmosphere after the game. The players and Coach Schaefer were swamped with kids and adults wanting to get pictures and autographs.

What’s Myah Taylor look like? Does she play much or at all?

Yes. We played a lot of backup players a good many minutes. Taylor looked good. She took at least one, maybe two charges. I think she and Espinoza-Hunter are both still getting used to concentrating on playing defense first. While they are both more talented than Scott I think one of the reasons Scott often plays before them is that she ?gets it? regarding Coach Schaefer?s philosophy of defense and rebounding. It?s not a knock on either player but just an adjustment they both need to make.

There’s no way there were 100 buzzards there. The band was Laurel High’s band so you can’t even count them.

I was trying not to exaggerate their numbers, may have gone too far the other way. I assumed that if they weren't in Maroon they weren't State fans. Literally less than 2 dozen actually wearing gold.

It looked to be about 75% full soon after tip-off and a vast majority of the fans were MSU. Most notable was that when MSU scored or did something very good the noise was loud enough I thought the roof was coming off.
