I'm not too worried on Brooks. I'm not worried at all on Russell. I have some concern on Emerson.

I wouldn't be shocked to see us get a grad transfer on the DL.
Baker is earning a good reputation that may be worth a solid prospect spending a year with to see if they can up their draft stock
I love our DT talent. I just don't like relying on so much youth in this league. I would love to have an older body, like a JUCO to throw into the mix. But I agree that Moore, Pickering, Lovett, and Crumedy are worth being excited about.

So the news on D. Hall wasn't all that great today. I thought we were trending up with him - anybody have any idea what the deal is there?

You need to remember that some of our commits have absolute morons in their ears.

Not concerned with Hall and OM.

Oh I'm not concerned with Hall and OM either, I just can't take it as a good sign he's chosen to not take an official to MSU. His recruitment has always been a little odd as most have felt he's long favored Auburn. But he never pulled the trigger and there are some rumblings that he might not have a commitable offer from them yet. Like Dean he's been a hard guy to get a read on.

I'm going to keep my mouth shut for now on Hall. I have my opinions there but we'll see. Don't be surprised if you see a new name pop up for that spot though. And I don't mean we're dropping him.

So where you guys think we end up finishing in rankings? There's 1 team ahead of us (OM) with a lower avg rating per player and 4 teams behind us with a higher avg rating per player (South Carolina, usc, Stanford, and Miami). We're currently at #20. 22nd to 25th?

I think that is about right. Anybody besides me think that this whole Kelly Bryant thing helps or hurts our recruiting momentum depending on how it turns out?

I think between 20 and 25 would be a big win for Moorhead. The recruiting class that comes in the year after you get the job is the hardest to do well in. Those kids have built relationships for a couple years and it's hard to establish a new one, especially if you were on a staff that didn't originally recruit the kid.
A Top 25 ranking with this would be solid. For comparison, we finished 30th with Mullen's first full class.

I just don’t see a one and done player having that big of an impact on other guys pledging bare minimum three years here.

You've got to look at the bigger picture. If KB chose MSU, then we would be looked at by the media as "the school" that the Clemson qb chose over Auburn. It would be talked about a good bit going into the season and during the first part of the season. No, it's not going to get us big time WR's but it does chip another piece away at the image of MSU being "poor old MSU".

I doubt anybody really talks much about where Bryant lands unless it's AU.

And that class turned out much worse than 30th. It was pretty bad outside of about 10 guys.

Disagree 2012 was way worse. 10-12 solid starter/contributors in a class about where a Top 30-35 class should be

I hope you guys don't find this commmet odd, but Lee Witherspoon looks really good on he hoof. I'm a big believer in that great athletes are "put together" correctly. Look at the 5 star players in the country and notice how their bodies and faces are "put together". I wish I could explain it better than that, but FWIW, in the face and body, Witherspoon looks like a 5 star athlete. I don't know. Gotta feeling with this one. The genetics appear to be right IMO.
