It doesn't directly affect hitting but I think from a mental standpoint of you are a hitter/offense and you feel like you need to score runs it could cause some guys to get away from their fundamentals and try to do too much.
Meh. Not buying. Its not like anybody is asking them to put 12 runs. Just have an approach and do your job.
