I will try and find the article that was written about USC talking about this very issue. They had very little transfer (even though it was given, I think one RB to Penn State maybe) and it made a huge difference in the program.
The comparisons are interesting. Even if OM is hit with sanctions on par with USC's, I'm thinking it'll hurt OM far worse. USC was able to retain most of its players and still recruit fairly well on name alone. It's going to be a rude awakening for OM since most of their fans seem to believe their name carries a whole lot more weight than it actually does.
