My issue has 0 to do with any criticism of us not throwing the ball downfield and everything to do with the name he insists on using.
And yes, it is meant to demean him. A QB checking down may not be a bad thing in general, but it is absolutely being used as a criticism here, and the name itself is intended to mock him for doing it.
