I don't think they have a choice but to be all in on MGK no matter who may fit their scheme better. You don't bring him in to be anything but a starter. And if he is not the answer, they are in pretty deep trouble offensively.
Not only that, but the drama that would ensue in the locker room if that happened. Talk about a team-chemistry-killer. If Ak-47 doesn't get what he wants, watch out.
