As a saints fan, I know exactly how this goes. Brees was signed a good deal, and he was surrounded by a good team. As his contract went up, the surrounding talent went down. ETA... right now, off has parsons rated the 4th best player in football regardless of position. I would think Dallas' D would look much better with him.
