ever talked to a "recruiter". But when we visited State, it was an organized event and we were not just wandering around campus. We called down and made an appt to
bring 7 students down and many others from across the state were there also.

However, that may be the problem. If he wasn't a recruiter maybe one was not assigned to our group. I'm certain that there is a recruiter in this area as many kids from my
sons school go to State it may be a problem of not enough for DeSoto Co.
I went to high school in DeSoto County. My guidance counselor was a joke. She was absolutely no help to you unless you were interested in UM (at least this was my experience). Neither of my parents went to college, so I really had no idea how any of it worked - this was also before the days of having instant access to a plethora of information via the interwebs. In spite of having a very good ACT score, I ended up going the JUCO route. Luckily I had a professor that was very helpful in laying out what different schools excelled in. I had it narrowed down to MSU and Auburn and fell in love with State on a visit... it didn't hurt that they had a brand spankin' new Chem-E building.

Long story short, I'm still upset with my guidance counselor for not doing her job.
