As far as business decisions go I think there are benefits to playing in bowl games as well.
If it were me, I would probably have a rule where if you don't participate in the bowl you don't get the bowl swag or get to do any of the other bowl stuff.
Absolutely agree with that. Play or you don't get the benefits.
