If you move Markakis to lead off then who is going to protect Freddie? Maybe when a Acuna gets back, but still he’s only a rookie. Maybe a better lineup would be:
1. Albies
2. Freeman
3. Markakis
4. Acuna
5. Suzuki/Flowers
6. Inciarte
7/8. Comargo/Swanson

FF
Catcher (Kurt .789 ops, flowers .894 ops)
Acuna
Ender
Camargo
Swanson
I like this lineup better bc...
You get markakis' .395 obp in front of Albies and FF.
If teams wanna bring in LH reliever late for markakis, albies is between markakis and FF to make that decision tougher.
We don't run in front of FF, so get your stealers (Acuna and ender) down in the lineup. Also, Camargo takes a bunch of pitches (18.4% bb rate) and doesn't strike out much (15.8% k rate), so he's perfect for runners to run during his ABs whether straight steal or hit and run.

Every time the braves struggle you go back to old reliable...blame snit. What's funny is how your go to used to be how he burnt the pen cuz he used it like every game was game 7...now you bitch because he's attempting to spread the wealth and use more guy's.
Maybe some guy's hafta step back up and do their job...carle and minter. Maybe baseball is a long damn season and everybody goes thru struggles at some point. Everybody.
Bottom line...most of us knew the nats would most likely end up winning the east. But this team should be in the wild card hunt come September.

Snit has done pretty good this year. He just goes completely overboard with ideas at times... early in the season he would make a double switch every night (this has stopped thank God), and now he's saving the pen way too much. I do like that he stopped pitching our guys every day, but there is a nice balance. You mentioned aj... well he went 5 days between action. Carle went 5 days between action. Viz went 6 days and then 5 days between action. Pitch guys an inning for 2 games in a row, and then rest them. Pitch guys once every other day, but don't go such long stretches

Well, in the lineup I proposed, Enter would be hitting 6th and he's by far the most prolific base-stealer on the team. Also, who cares if they bring in a lefty for Markakis or Freeman or Albies because all three of the are hitting lefties better than they are righties.

And of course, the Braves win a huge one. Great job, Newcomb, winkler, and viz

To paraphrase my hero, Bill Shankley, here we are with all our problems in first place.

This team plays hard and determined. And for all his questionable decisions the credit for that goes to the skipper. Newcomb is an ace. Need to catch lightning in a bottle with a youngster and go get a legit back end of the bullpen guy.
How much would/should the braves give up to go get Donaldson?

Last year of Donaldson's contract. My guess is someone like kolby allard or Ian Anderson.

Saw a report that said Moustakas talk is really picking up steam.

Wish the A's would fade, and we could get lowrie. My wish list for 3b in order is...
1. Lowrie
2. Beltre
3. Donaldson
4. Mous

We have a 3B in AAA right now.
Draft hitting, pay for pitching.

All of the guys I listed are 1/2 year rentals.
I'm a huge Riley guy, but he isn't ready this season imo. His 32.3% k rate is alarming

As good as Newk was last night, Folty has one-upped him tonight. Outstanding, guys!

I'm so impressed our young pitchers have showed up like this these first 2 games. Need McCarthy to keep it going. Wouldn't be surprised if soroka and gohara replace McCarthy and Sanchez pretty soon
