My opinion

From what I could see, we play the same way as the other teams. IMO, it's the facade of fouling and so refs look at us more then the other team. Howland doesn't seem to complain regarding it so they keep it up. Florida got away with murdering us with their defense and were able to jump over our backs to get offensive rebounds which was the difference in that game. They also called fouls away from the ball (bullshit in every since of the word) and that was a big difference as well. Not a single off the ball foul was called in today's game and that is the way it should be.

Difference in this game was Newman hit shots like we knew he could. If he does that to start SEC play instead of right now, our record is easily 4-2 right now instead of 1-5 with wins over A&M, Tennessee, and Florida.

We've got to find a way to improve by 1000% our perimeter defense. This is getting nauseating when even shitty three point shooting teams can make three pointers on us. Ole Miss' three point shooting and our turnovers were the only reasons why they even had a chance in the end.

My opinion

That's exactly right and there are two reasons for it in my opinion. When you aren't as talented as the guy you are guarding you find yourself out of position a lot. They were allowed to get away with it by the previous regime FAR too much. In fairness the previous regime had no choice to let them. Howland doesn't have much of one either, YET.

This+. Ready helps Newman be better. When he was out with 3 fouls in 1st half, Newman did nothing. Newman does not play the point well at all and we flounder when he is point. Also notice Ready broke the OM press and was able to get the ball up the floor in the last few minutes. That was critical.
