So we have a 5* commitment?**

As far as 3B prospects go, keep an eye on 17 year old Venezuelan Juan Yepez who is currently in Orlando. He was their big international signing last year. Much like Ozhaino Albies, they had Yepez skip the DSL and go straight to the GCL.

Agreed.
And Ruiz is still there. He'll still only be 22 next year; if he comes back to AA and plays well, he'll be in Atlanta soon after.

Stolen from Braves' board...
Albies got his 100th hit of the season tonight which makes him the 1st player in MiLB to get to 100 hits on the year & he has 10 more hits than his nearest competitor.
SAL Rankings:
2nd in runs
5th in triples
1st in at bats
7th in stolen bases

Excellent debut by banuelos tonight...
5.2 ip 2 h 0 er 0 bb 7 k
I really like banuelos and wisler. Oh and I don't think we've seen the last of folty and Perez. Spring training next year is gonna be very interesting with all the above and Jenkins could be in the mix too

He's only 5th in the SAL in triples?! Good grief, he has 8 of them.
But yes, he's having a phenomenal year and could move up 2 or more levels next year.
And Banuelos looked great tonight. If he can consistently bring that changeup, he has a chance to be very good. He was efficient tonight, too; needs to keep that up.

It's a good problem to have. This is much better than running Harang and Garcia out there like we have done the past two years.
Think about this: Shelby Miller, Alex Wood, Julio Teheran, Manny Banuelos, and Williams Perez are all 24. Michael Foltynewicz is 23. Matt Wisler is 22. Tyrell Jenkins is 22. Wes Parsons is 22. Lucas Sims is 21. Max Povse is 21.

Also, Austin Riley broke out tonight going 3 for 4 with 2 doubles.

Some of those guys are moving to the pen. Don't know who, but it's inevitable. That, or we'll trade a few for bats. And you can't forget Touki Touissant who's just 19.

Finally getting some depth back. Cross your fingers we don't run into the whole staff going down to injury like before.

I think it's a pretty safe guess that more than 1 will be traded.

Touki, Ricardo Sanchez, and Kolby Allard are a ways away. The team finally has depth on the pitching front, and they did not have this before John Hart and John Coppolella took over.

Also, the Braves have gone heavily into the international market this year. They have agreed to deals with SS Derian Cruz and OF Cristian Pache out of the Dominican. They also reportedly will sign SS Juan Morales from Venezuela. They made some moves yesterday to get some international signing slots, dealing Cody Martin to Oakland for some slot money, Garrett Fulenchek to Tampa Bay for some slot money, and Caleb Dirks/Jordan Paroubek to the Dodgers for slot money. The Braves also reportedly have already made a "wink wink" agreement with Kevin Maitan, who is drawing comparisons to Miguel Cabrerra and is the top international prospect for the 2016 signing period.

Don't we still have to make another trade to not be over money on international signing this year? God, I hate trying to keep up with the business side of baseball

The Braves are looking to upgrade their offense and have let other clubs know that they?re willing to trade from their recently bolstered stable of pitching prospects in order to acquire a bat, reports Jayson Stark of ESPN (via Twitter). According to Stark, Atlanta has asked other clubs about the availability of their young catchers.

In other words, we're giving up on Bethancourt. Trading Gattis was the worst move of the offseason, even if we did get Folty for him.

No one here has really mentioned it, but our bullpen has really stepped it up lately. Mckirahan and vizcaino will be available soon so hopefully they can help even more

I don't believe the Braves are giving up on a 23 year old catcher that is currently hitting .327 at Gwinnett. The Braves are likely anticipating a market for AJ Pierzinski though, and may move him. I feel they want a young catcher to go with Bethancourt and have a competition between the two. There were rumors earlier that the Braves might be interested in someone like Gary Sanchez from the Yankees.
