Noah is going to have to sit a game I guess unless there is some rule that you have to sit out longer for multiple ejections within a specific time frame that I don't know about.
This might seem but I would put Ace in 3 or 5. He is a power hitter and needs to be where he can knock some peeps in. But of course you need some guys on base to do that.

The team needs to drop to 17. Getting the fear of missing a Host seed might( might) wake them up. Definitely not a Top 8 seed type of team. Too many holes in the word ?Team?.
1-5 in the SEC against teams that are or were ranked at the time we played them. 1-2 against the other 2 Ranked Teams State has played. Arkansas out pitched State. UGA out hit, out pitched, out defended, and out coached State.

Yeah I would like to get some odds on that to load up on. No way in hell that happens. Playing .500 ball the rest of the way is much more likely than that.

We're very capable of winning our next three series. Two at home and then one at South Carolina. Winning 7 of those 9 by themselves would get us into a regional. Especially if we win the Governor's Cup in top of that. Then we would only need to win 2-3 of the last 9 to host. And we'll have McPherson back for most of not all of those if I had to guess.
And yeah- I do think we will play a lot better next weekend. This is just a bump in the road. Every team has it happen even the best LSU teams.

I would definitely do that before I ever thought about sitting him.

Was Ole Miss ranked when we played them? I thought they were.

Even if that happens that's still 16 wins and good enough to host as long as we don't have any bad midweek losses.

My guess...
Tenn 2-1
At SC 2-1
LSU 1-2
At Texas 0-3
Auburn 2-1
at aTm 1-2
15-15

Umpires were ass all weekend and I hope we complain to the SEC and this crew doesn't do any of our games the rest of the year. They absolutely affected the outcome of this series in a negative way. They're the poster boys why fans want ABS. I didn't even think their catcher framed it that well. He scooped everything and they bought it every single ****ing time. I would love to see the reports from our tech on how the umpires did this weekend. Too bad someone from MSU doesn't leak that. I'm sure it was CB Bucknor bad.
Sure, we should get more from Sweeney but I would disagree that 5 runs in a Sunday game would normally be enough to beat a team with an offense like Georgia. Our offense has got to get its groove back. Right now its in a funk.

Anything can happen, but picking LSU to come into Starkville and take 2/3 seems needlessly pessimistic.
I think something like this is very plausible:
7-2 over our next 3 weeks
5-4 over the last 3
19-11 overall, and that's not even me being a homer yet.

We probably take Friday with McPherson. It be what it be. Lot of games left!

Sweeney threw a pitch that was batting practice caliber. If he executes we win 5-3.
I'm giving our offense a pass because of the horseshit umpiring.
If the SEC has ABS we win this series.

Also as far as the last three weekends- I expect McPherson back for most of not all of those and I expect Bauer to gradually become a bigger part of the bullpen. That's going to make a HUGE difference from what we are today. Between those two you're probably looking at 7-9 quality innings a weekend alone. Not to mention Pitzer, Gleason and others.

Just saying, 2 weeks ago I would never believe that Chance would have taken a strike 3 right in the middle of the strike zone without swinging like he did in that 9th inning, but he did. And others aren't seeing the ball as well right now either. Agree that the umpiring was crap but I've seen that so much in the SEC that I just expect it at this point. But we have more offensive problems than just that right now.

If we have McPherson back in his usual form in the last 3 weeks and get quality innings out of Bauer, we're probably looking at 20 or 21 wins.

Offense not getting a pass from me. They had some pitches to hit and watched them go by or missed some. Were there horse crap calls? Yes… plenty. Adjust and get the job done. We are slumping

It's a lot harder to adjust when you are forced to swing at pitches that are balls and almost hit the dirt. Shit, I could pitch against our lineup and do decent if I got off the shoes as a strike call. Or the 1927 Yankees.

Agree again. I hope Bauer eventually takes over as closer. I'm certainly willing to be patient with him though. I like Davis as a relief ace better than as a closer honestly too. His last two outings have been better since Ole Miss game one. I know Webb gave up the home run in extra innings but he has been good most of the year as have Pitzer and Gleason. We can win a lot with that group plus Tico, Stone and McPherson.

This is what kinda worries me in the back of my mind. Getting him back and getting him back in his usual form could be two different things. But either way the sooner it is the better off we are.
